The Notre Dame Marching Band has the SUDLER Trophy..thats because its a world class Band and pride.thousands of high schools and even collegess,play the Notre Dame,fight song.and even some of other ND's songs.as well.but I do love the usc marching band and the fight song.two great bands.

POWERFUL! I dig college marching bands. Big numbers and sound. What is even more fun are the fans that go ga-ga over their fav. It is tough to fairly pick "the best". The Sudler Trophy picks the best college band of the year. However, it would be interesting to see and hear an all college marching band competition broken down by division, then those winners battle it out for the top spot. Literally "March Madness"(don't steal my idea) for marching bands. What do you fellow bandfans think? PEACE

It matters that they're out of line, what nitpicking, they absoutley rock, and they represent the best College Football program in the country. Can we say three Heismans , can we say 3 championships, can we say Pete Carroll, 89 and 6 in a 9 year college coaching stint?.....does any band or any university come close ? NO......Fight On USC!!!!!!!! :)

Continued, b/c I ran out of characters: In my opinion, it mostly had to do with the fact that there were four and a half minutes left in the game and Benn (I think that was his name) knew the touchdown he'd just made didn't matter (that TD brought the score up to 49-17). I would blame it on frustration rather than the TMB.

You mean for the opening? The Trojan fanfare "Tribute to troy" is made for the slow step...It's cool! We have the same exact songs at my school, the fanfare and the Fight On ^_^

I've been looking for a video of it, but I haven't been able to find it yet. I know it wasn't caught on TV, because very few of the commentators were sure why the player got an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. And as for blaming it on us, not everything can be our fault. We're responsible for our own actions, but we can't also be made responsible for the actions of the opposing team.

One of the illinois players chucked a football at the USC band. That seems a little unsportsmanlike to me.

@TheArwen2010 They're at work... the USC band is disliked by many, and when they're wearing uniforms, people forget that they're just college kids. At almost every game or major event, fans of other teams hassle band members and try to steal helmets and pieces of instruments. The people next to the band are keeping an eye out.

i totally agree with nubsauce101. its about getting you pumped up and the TMB does that. and leave the spirit leaders alone. they're cute!

I am sorry to say that this vid was so so of the band. I love the band a lot, but they didn't keep straight interval, which look nice when done right.

Eh they're probably hung over or still drunk...I was in the SC Band and I know that's how my section got through the parade.

I would also expect a band that calls itself the "Greatest Marching Band in the Universe" would take a little more care with its lines and its marching. They just look lazy. Also I agree with patrickjohn, the LA bands need to learn new songs, UCLA and USC play the same three songs over and over.

USC's band only knows 3 songs! Fight On, Conquest and Tribute to Troy. Most annoying to have to sit behind, ever!
