If there is anything you MUST tip EXTRA for is a haircut. Especially one that looked legit from the get go - we could tell he was skilled off rip. Such amazing generosity for what I consider a truly skilled barber.

The thing is, the translation was perfect, they just did not know how to read, it’s not their fault though, and yes in many such family businesses in India/Nepal or anywhere in South-Asia and even South -East Asia, family members are not payed since they believe the money is going to the same family anyways & and people here do not have that tradition of “independence” or “when are you moving out & getting your own place”. Society is still patriarchal with father being the only one responsible for the economics of the family. In many families still, even if the son gets a job , his entire money goes straight to his parents.

They charge high to you seeking that you are a tourist. Local haircut costs only around Nepali Rs.100. (0.9$)*. It will be better if u gave that money to needy people. They don't actually deserve that.

Quite an expensive haircut.... I went to a small barber shop near Boudha / Kapan and had a haircut for NPR100 when I visited Nepal in 2019.... Was in Nepal for about a month and need a haircut in the middle of my trip there. Really like watching you videos because everything is unrehearsed and natural. Thank you.
