I just found you on RU-vid and I loved this quick breakdown of how to sell coloring books! I'm very interested and I REALLY appreciated you going through everything for us. I would like to know how to sell downloadables. How do I put the pdf's or whatever I make online to sell? Anyways, I really liked your video and I did like and subscribed! Thank you!

I cover those in the training course mentioned in the link. If you're selling on Etsy they provide an option to upload your PDF so that it's delivered from their system after purchase. If you have your own website, you can also deliver them there. Some I've seen provide a pdf with links to dropbox storage of the individual art files. I hope that helps.

I import the image into photoshop (you can use photopea.com Online as an alternate app) When I create the document I set it to 8.5x11 and 150 dpi. and then save as a jpg. Once I have all images I want for that edition I combine them into 1 PDF file. I hope that helps

@@FrankDeardurff but how 150 dpi prints at the end?

oh so you only provide them wit the pdf, not the actual printed book ?
@FrankDeardurff

depends on where I sell them. If selling on amazon I would use their KDP system. on certain books I will sell physical versions using a fulfillment house.

Let me tell you, its ridiculous how „not coloring books“ these are. Coloring books are suppoused to have clean lines and purpose, not random trash with some sort of lineart, but endless grayscale everywhere. People will notice that they cant color these.
@FrankDeardurff
@FrankDeardurff Год назад
Thank you for your feedback. some of them do have some crazy lines but that is up to the artist to re-illustrate and fix those issues. I appreciate your concerns and comments.

I disagree with this comment 🤭 I love adult coloring books, my collection is over 60 I think, and I actively look for books that have premade shadowing. I prefer them actually, because it’s easier to color and the drawings feel more intricate. I don’t have to worry too much about how dark or light to make my shadows, as opposed to a book that ONLY has outlines in which I have to make all the lighting decisions. My point is, it’s all about preference. Let’s respect not everyone likes the same thing, and you not liking these doesn’t make them “trash”. I can very much color these, and would choose these over outlines only 🙂

@@soulfabs thanks for the kind words. And you are so right, everyone has their own preferences.
@PlainsAyu

@@soulfabs Why would many uncolorable black parts make an "adult" coloring book out of it? I am an illustrator and I know quite a lot about lineart. But basically you are telling me that people are fine with pictures where there is almost nothing to color and that they prefer that over designed lineart?
@valentinadona207

Manu coloring books containin grayscale elements and it’s actually a niche of the coloring book world, many people appreciate the shadows because the give more depth to the final design

I wouldn't recommend doing that. It could potentially backfire, at some point.

@@FrankDeardurff Go and look up a few of the more followed RU-vid channels on coloring books as there is the start of a movement against AI Illustrations it's just a matter of time before this gets traction and then trashes AI books with 1 star reviews killing AI books off the KDP platform, Personally I am only doing simple Kids coloring books that have far simpler Illustrations and no greyscale.

@@celtshaun1427 I think AI is here to stay honestly, while i get why people are upset over it. It's too much of a new thing though and its growing like wild fire and fast to just disappear.

@@warlockscott Yep i hear you, The problem is you always get a few that do not like change so go on some sort of crusade thinking their cause is for good but as you stated this is here to stay, So yes I will still be creating but will personally just be a little picky for now in regards to what Niche I enter as to not to feed the trolls 🤣😂🤣
