@@banksideleopards2791 Yes! In the first patch, the Strike input of the Arbhar receives gate signals from the gate out of the Bard Quartett quantizer. I set up the quantizer to send a gate signal whenever it changes its note, but only when the joystick button is pressed at the same time. So when I move the joystick and have the joystick button pressed, Arbhar will be triggered via the quantizer. Does that help? Thanks for watching!
Fantastic video! Thanks for doing this. You’ve helped me articulate something that I have been pondering for years. For me, a simple filter sweep, (done by hand, using the knob) has this gestural feeling, and I’ve been looking for a CV recorder that can capture it, and repeat it with the start point quantized, but the sweep still having that natural acceleration of my hand. The closest I have come is sending 5v to an attenuator, then using the knob of the attenuator to create the sweep gesture, and recording the CV output to my 1010music BitBox. I see you using a Patching Panda module to record CV. Have you been happy with it? Can the CV be played back with the start of the envelope being quantized?
Happy to hear the video resonates with your practice! So I hope I get this right: The beginning of the gesture should be quantized, but not the rest of the CV movement that comes after, right? The Ephemere can quantize its signal, but it works the same as putting a quantizer after it. If you wanted that signal to start quantized on a specific note and then be smooth for the gestural movement, you need to patch the epheremere (or bitbox) into a module that can smooth the signal (aka integrate or glide it), MN Maths or TipTop 266 Source of Uncertainty can do that! I havent had the Ephemere for long. I think the Ephemere is good at what it does! But it is very much a one or two trick pony. If you already have a bitbox for recording CV, the Ephemere will not give you much more functionality (but make the process of recording a bit smoother), and I would rather looking into quantizers + logic modules. But let me know if I understood you right!
