⚖️ FORCE is the language of cells.
.
.
Cells respond to force, that means pressure, vibration, tension, compression, movement, lack of movement, and other sources of force. This means that our DNA expression literally is changed by things like exercise, movement, and yoga! Perhaps more importantly it's negatively affected by LACK of these things and sedentary lifestyle.
.
.
In response to force, nearly every cell in our bodies changes. Force alters DNA expression. Force stimulates adaptation, growth, and development. Force tells your nerves what's going on in your body. Force is a FUNDAMENTAL and universal language of cells.
.
.
❓WHAT ABOUT NERVES? AREN'T THEY FUNDAMENTAL?
.
▶️ Yep, they sure are! However, think about how your nerves actually know what's going on in the body. We can feel things only because we have "mechanoreceptors". They respond to mechanical input - i.e. FORCE. Without force acting on the receptors, we wouldn't be able to feel anything!
.
.
❓WHAT ABOUT CHEMICAL SIGNALING? ISN'T THAT FUNDAMENTAL?
.
▶️ Absolutely. This is a toss up. Honestly I'm sure that if we were in person we could have a lively debate about which is more fundamental, force or chemical signaling. Either one could easily be argued as the "correct" answer to the question in my previous post. Therefore I don't think there is a 100% "correct" answer, but I would argue in favor of FORCE being even more fundamental than hormones.
.
▶️▶️ It all starts with embryology. No doubt, there is a TON of chemical signaling involved in the growth and development of an embryo. However, as the single cell divides over and over again, making exact copies of itself, there soon comes a point where the copies are NOT exact. There starts to be a delineation of one layer of cells from another. The "germ layers" become distinct. HOW? Instagram doesn't give me enough room to explain, so I'll just say: FORCE.

thank you so much for this video! a few months ago, i started hearing about this concept of mechanotransduction. mostly, it was in relation to the importance of training the human body according to what human bodies have evolved to do (standing, walking, running, throwing). your video was excellent in terms of providing much better understanding of how mechanotransduction works and how it deeply impacts the body, even down to the cellular level. it makes even more sense now that creating even dispersion of tension throughout the body is essential to create a perfect environment in which healthy cells can thrive. FP's "train intentionally, not habitually" also makes more sense. my brain is spinning, in a good way!!

I really love and appreciate this video. Thank you so much. Edging towards the end of my studies and wish that I had seen this earlier. You're a wonderful teacher. Thanks again.

Thank you! Nope I'm using OBS on my desktop, while I route my iPad screen into the computer via Quicktime for the slides. I can draw on my ipad nicely that way :)

Yes, force is the language of cells but it is because we live in the gravitational field .....Force is correct but overstating the issue for the laymen....any gravitational exertion can have the same result which is why exercise works the same way as "force"

That was a complicated way to say we agree. Exercise IS force. It’s just compressive and tensile forces acting on the body repeatedly, creating an adaptation in the tissues. It’s all just different kinds of force.

Your content is extremely important. However I would encourage you to do more research before reading directly from an article. Take a long look at Donald Ingber, MD, Ph.D, a physician and cellular biologist at the Wyss Institute (Harvard Medical School...www.wyss.com). If you read Dr Ingber’s 1998 Scientific American article, The Architecture of Life...It will help you out with the self assembly content... One last comment; I would venture to guess most of your viewers use profanity in their day to day lives when frustrated, but your professionalism dropped a notch or 2 when you said “shit”. I believe Force is so very important in the models you described... you might find a bit more if you venture into quantum biology and quantum fields... yes you will find that applies to exercise as related to the tensegrity model you referred to...

Thanks for the feedback and additional reading material! There's so much to read on this topic and so little time. As for profanity I hear what you're saying and I actually have been more careful about language recently. If you rewind to even a year ago I had quite the sailor's mouth :) I see your point but don't want to censor myself to the point of being inauthentic. I hope this video mainly served as food for thought to people who are not necessarily experts in cell bio or some such field, but rather are manual therapists, movement teachers, physios, chiros, and the like, who gain from new perspectives that aren't emphasized in school. By no means is this comprehensive.
