For me starting out as a young child my mum used to buy us GL in Nigeria to wear . We only wore her real gold on Sundays to church or special occasions. For school or daily life it was GL dainty earrings until my older sis ‘s skin started reacting . Then she started wearing solid gold . She then gifted us our own mini gold collection which consisted of studs, small pendant and dainty chains . Italian 18kt & some Saudi 22kt gold . I prefer the matte subtle yellow gold used in traditional Italian or USA gold. The 21kt to 22kt of Middle Eastern or Asian gold is too orange or glowy against my skin. But if it’s a very big occasion then I wear it . I think hoops , a few studs and bracelet with chain is s good start .
I also prefer yellow Italian gold. The color is perfect. It’s tasteful and unobtrusive. I have always reacted to earrings so I mostly stick to real gold. The plated gold earrings are getting better and I can wear them for days on end. That wasn’t always the case.

You're glowing! The slicked back hair looks real good on you. I personally don't think diamonds are necessary since they don't hold their value and there are so many options but they are good to have.
Thank you! The humidity is making me look like a q-tip, so the ponytail will be here for a bit. I like the look of diamonds (my birthstone) and other gemstones. But you are right, you don't need diamonds. Plain gold or platinum jewelry is sometimes all that is required.
I’ve noticed since I began to wear genuine 14k gold jewelry, I get a lot of micro aggressive treatment in public from women and few men. But I am also approached a little more from the opposite gender as well. I’m just trying to figure out if it’s because gold on my skin complexion hits so much different than silver or if people think gold means you’re ghetto or something 😤
Nadia- really that’s so odd I wonder why ? Yellow gold is classic & most folks wear it z my eyes always smile when I observe folks wearing jewelry especially in gold . I people watch on trains or just about anywhere & my eyes always goes to jewelry. Bcos that is my thing 🥰

Stud earrings and hoops are classic, chandelier earrings or dangle earrings can be dressed up or down also. I feel like any jewelry piece is a safe bet since some pieces go out of style but will eventually be back in style again, like herringbone chains and large hoop earrings, name necklaces, etc. Great video! 💕

Heyo, love your content! Chemist here: it's probably better to just keep wearing man-made diamonds. They are cheaper as you said, and strucutrally they are EXACTLY the same as natural/mined diamonds. It really just doesn't make sense to pay wayyy more for something that may have been mined in unethical conditions. The only benefit of opting for mined diamonds I could think of would be if a specific item of jewelry you really wanted was made by a company who only uses mined diamonds, but otherwise, going out of your way to buy mined diamonds for the sake of it is not a very logical choice. The prices of mined diamonds are artificially inflated due to DeBeers having a monopoly on the mined diamond trade, and they really aren't worth as much as they're cracked up to be.
Thanks for the insight. I bought some lab diamond pieces last year and I feel like the lab diamonds turned very cloudy in 6 months. Never had that issue with mined diamonds. I may try with a better brand.
I’m in the same predicament! I like the MOP VCA necklaces because of how clean they look but love the Onyx bracelets. Will probably get a necklace so the MOP wins.
Italian gold generally meets higher purity benchmarks and standards. I tend to prefer the color of Italian gold because it's more consistent across the board.

I was commenting before I saw the whole video. My initial necklace of from Roberto Coin. It isn’t very sparkly at all. I sold my paperclip earrings. I think the paperclip chains will become outdated soon.
I remember people wearing the paperclip necklaces when I was a child. They may stop being popular again. Herringbone chains are back and I remember those from my childhood also. Feels like VCA is so hot right now but I always thought of it as a older woman brand and now Gen Z kids want them. With jewelry, wear what you love!
