My issue is there's so many stones underneath our soil that even if I used this, it would never go as deep as I need it to. I'm using a garden fork for aeration now. Looks like for the next season I'll have to scratch all the work I've done and either filter the existing soil or add several inches on top. But so far I'm finding the grass is pretty versatile in growing it's roots "around" the rocks. Or maybe there could be a way to slice the upper layer along with the grass and then lay it back on the new soil? Gonna be a tough project haha.
I had a landscaping company cine through and kill off my top layer of grass, add 4 inches of loam, and then reseed. Cost 15K, but it solved the problem
I have one of them but it’s a two core aerator I’m about to try on some yellow spots on my yard I messed up on by spreading some weed killing product. So I plan to hit those spots with this and throw seed with top soil and cover them up with peat moss. Is this the way to go about it ? I’m new to the whole doing pre emergent/ reseeding/ fertilizing thing. Just want to have a nice green lawn like some of my neighbors and already messed up a few times 😂.
