Hi and welcome, here we are using the Unusable paper from the 12x12 paper pads. By altering it we can use up even those papers that we had originally written off as disliked, or not suitable for our vintage style projects. Hope you enjoy this video and will join me next time, thanks for watching, and please hit the like button and subscribe to my channel for more crafty fun!!! Tinax

Unbelievable! You have really transformed these papers. They're beautiful now. I own 20 years worth of scrapbook papers that need to be updated. Looks like I have my work cut out for me. Tina, you are really great at helping us save money (that I don't have) and still be a part of the vintage junk journal world. Thanks for all you do.

I'm thrilled about this idea! I've so many 'left-over' ugly pages that I don't want to waste - but you've shown how they can be transformed. Thanks! PS: hang in there with the anxiety - there are lots of us who have this, so it's nice to support each other. Thankfully crafting can be great therapy!

The sound you heard is my jaw dropping. This is brilliant, Tina. I haven’t seen anyone take this beyond simply covering the patterns and overly-bright colors with gesso. I wind up using “ugly” paper as craft mats when I’m gluing or inking. I also cut the sheets up and use them for grocery and to-do lists. I’ve even balled them up and used them as fillers for my homemade holiday gift baskets. My kitty and I have loads of fun with them as I hide her little fuzzy toys under them. I donate quite a bit to my local charity shop, and they sell them very quickly (which goes to show it is simply a matter of taste and the type of projects we each enjoy working on).Thank you for this video. It’s nice to know I can actually start keeping more for actual crafting. ❤️

Wonderful way to transform paper and make it usable! I have so much paper that is just not my thing, but I bought the pad for a few pieces that I really liked! I did a lot of this last year when I made an album and a box for it, all about my mum who had recently died. I had a 12 x 12 stack that I’d got when I first started doing any crafting and I always thought, “I can’t think why I bought this horrible paper!” I just kept adding layers of ink till I was happy, but the paper had a slightly waxy surface and it was a terrible job until I’d got the first couple of layers down. I wish I’d thought of painting on a layer of gesso first... It came out lovely in the end, though. Your results are simply gorgeous. The stack came with several sheets of push-out tags and labels and I think I’m going to do the same treatment on them, and with the remaining sheets, and then add them to my stash for use in future projects. Very often, the paper you get is of great quality - it’s just the design printed on it that’s so awful, but for a creative person, that shouldn’t be a drawback!! Off to watch your part 2 vid. Thanks for sharing - awesome!!

Shabbydabbydoodah Thank you! I also made one about my Dad, which I made for my niece (his only grandchild). That one was mixed media, made entirely from recycled materials or things already in my stash. You’d never guess that the pages were all made out of recycled Christmas cards!! Albums are fun to make, and when you do them in memory of someone, you are thinking about them all the time as you plan the pages and bring them to fruition, and in both albums I included a LOT of photos.
