Hey thanks for your kind comment! The iPad I am using is the 2021 iPad Pro I’d suggest getting that one as a minimum as it’s got the M1 chip which is very powerful! Mine has 8GB of ram which is fine but you can get iPads with 16GB of ram which would allow you to do a lot more complex models :)

I recommend getting started with blender on your PC but this app is great for using your iPad as an external monitor with your PC and once you start sculpting you’ll enjoy using the Apple Pencil:) iPad also changed the game for me it’s opened up so much creative freedom!! 👌🏻

@@shazibjehangir if you have both Blender and Nomad, i recommend using Blender for modelling, arranging your objects, texturing, but keep Nomad for sculpting... it's better at it, it's faster, especially when you have to remesh your model or decimate the number of polygons... Nomad will take sometimes 30 seconds to do something Blender would take 25 minutes while making your pc totally unusable to do... I recommand using a cloud solution, like Onedrive or Google Drive, or Dropbox as a way to export easily your object basis from Blender (as obj or stl), then open it easily on Nomad, then reexport it, and reimport it on Blender without having to use a usb drive to move your files from one device to another.

@@Drewblu22 it is, but depending on what kind of animation you want to do, you may need to retopologize your model first as the one you made in nomad sculpt may have too many polygons. Search on youtube for tutorials about this.

M1Max 16” // 32GB // 1TB iPad Pro 11” // 2018 Works great with Blender as of the 4.0+ support of metal GPU’s Apple silicone chips are pretty smooth when screen casting to one another, usable wirelessly (short range though), and solid when wired. Sculpting, Texture painting, and hard surface modeling are all buttery smooth, & rendering in Cycles is greatly improved since 4.0 I would recommend M2 and above as a minimum spec for both devices, as there is significantly better compatibility support on the M2 and above architecture, especially if you dabble in unreal engine (which I do not recommend on a Mac/ I still push to PC for this part of the pipeline. While it is possible, the M1 is specifically unable to take advantage of Lumen, Nanite, and Niagara Volumetric Particle Systems require M2 and above, and support is still very experimental) Also the enhanced pencil experience on M2 iPads and above is a must. My current Mac / IPad setup is great cause it’s super powerful / reliable / and portable* which is key for a lot of the work I do. I’ll likely upgrade to an M2 IPad at some point. I won’t upgrade my M1Max for a long time I imagine, as it’s pretty perfect for the bulk of my usage. For projects that proceed to Unreal Engine, my pc tower specs: i7 // 64gb // 4080 Super // 2TB SSD

I used the keyboard and mouse pen is only really used for sculpting

Hi, yes that iPad would be absolutely fine my iPad is only 2021 250gb and 8gb ram with M1 chip and it can handle very high poly sculpting :)

​@@buntrockstudios nooo, there is no specific usb input on my pc to connect the lightning cable, at both ends are the same lightning inputs, not a normal usb

I have PC so I’m not sure how it works on Mac unfortunately I don’t know why apple don’t make iPads more compatible with macs as genuine graphics tablets

my m3 imac could connect to my old ipad with sidecar, however there is a bug, when i try to draw new object in ipad running blender grease, there is a drag line from my previous drawing end line.

It’s basically the same principle obviously it won’t be the same or better but it is very handy if you have an iPad and don’t want to spend loads on a Wacom :)

It sends the screen signal and you can drop the Mac app to the iPad but I couldn't figure it out how to use Pencil....it just doesn't work @@buntrockstudios

Yeah it’s difficult to get used to but I’ve found the more I do it the easier it is I’ve found a way to get shortcuts on the iPad so I don’t need to be sat at my desk with my PC
