This new app from the team that brought you Halide for iPhone allows you to connect your iPad to ANY HDMI device including Nintendo Switch, Cameras, or your laptop. 💬 More from Toby: tobygv.tv #orionapp #filmmaking #ipad
im convinced someday apple is going to allow you to just use the ipad as a usb c monitor (or hdmi with an adapter) natively. it might seem like a niche selling point but its actually huge, and would just add even more utility to an already immensely useful device.
@@g43s yea im aware of sidecar, but its not the same thing. It only works with macs that have a primary display already. you cant just plug it into a mac mini for example and use it. also im pretty sure youre limited to 60hz. Im talking about using the ipad as a plug and play primary display with any device that outputs usbc or hdmi, and preferably at the full 120hz refresh.
Does it support 120fps 4K DolbyVision? Xbox Series X on a 1000 nits full screen display would be insane. (And you'd need glue an actual CPU cooler on the back over the SoC 😏)
Question: how can this app be used and still keep the iPads battery charged? I bought the capture card Orion recommended and it works great, however once the iPad battery died, I was like oh yeah…. What about a card that also provides charging while being used. What’s everyone’s opinion on that?
