So much of the content online is like fast food for the mind - it exploits our impulses. Videos about gossip or drama get us to click, but after the video is over, we've gained nothing in exchange for our most valuable assets - our time and attention. I want After Skool to be resource that is educational, entertaining and when you leave this video you will feel like you have gained something. Be careful where you focus your attention. If you don't have a plan, you become a part of someone else's plan. Anyways, there's my little rant. I hope you enjoyed this video! If you like this video, please consider supporting After Skool on Patreon. Thank you. www.patreon.com/AfterSkool

The miniscule amount of positive content like yours makes it hard to shut down media completely. It's all poison or empty calories. I think what's best for me is to limit my anger at things I have no control over. Thanks for doing your bit to help us.

Are steps taken to wear paths upon the ground? If so, then our concern is leaving a way for others to follow. Do you think thoughts to wear a way to think those thoughts again? One step changes your position. If you give attention, then it changes your view. One thought changes perspective too.

@Maakyo

@@bigpoppasmurf My only criticism of this line of thinking is that constant physical stress and trauma from disease, or other such things out of your control, can cause cyclical patterns of negative thoughts and behaviors. Can you leverage positive emotions to your benefit? Yes, but under poor conditions you are less likely to engage in such behavior. I have a chronic illness and a few other permanent conditions that I was either born with or have had thrust upon me. Positive thinking has helped me in many regards, but I find difficulty in maintaining such a mentality since those conditions are cause for consistent and brutal pain and stress. It is more simple if you don’t live with such things, but if you do, and more people do than don’t, then finding this balance is an uphill battle, and quite frankly insurmountable to the average human with what little power and love is available to them.

Great video and drawings as always! Last year I was out of balance but I learned some things to get out of my burnout. 1. quit social media for at least 1 month. 2. Stop looking at the news! 3. Breathing excersize (wim hof breathing rounds). 4. Listing to singing bowls while laying on bed. 5. Connect with nature by walks and take a swim (especially the cold waters). 6. And when I felt better, I started to get to my workouts again and feel great now :) If you feel stressed, maybe this will help

@tzgaming207
@tzgaming207 5 месяцев назад
@@intentionaloutcome9068 Redirecting your thoughts to create a better emotional state is absolutely scientifically relevant, & factually true! Keeping a positive mindset does help promote better health, & there's nothing wrong with that way of being! But this is not what Dispenza claims. The human brain has no magical ability to cause physiological processes to be more effective than they're going to be without your thinking about them, & definitely not going to affect any malady that has afflicted humankind for hundreds of thousands of years. If that's all it took to reverse Type 1 diabetes, leukemia, bipolar disorder, or any of thousands of other conditions, we'd already know about it; it would just be part of the natural order of things & we wouldn't need Dispenza to tell us. If there was anything legit about "alternative medicine", it would just simply be "medicine". Anyone who claims that they have some new information that can significantly & quantifiably cure diseases that have been stumping people with actual relevant education & expertise for generations, _MUST_ back their claim up with evidence. Large scale, reproduceable studies. No exceptions! Otherwise, it's pseudoscience & magical thinking. Dispaneza's claims that we can basically think ourselves well is bullshit on its face & potentially criminal. Remember, he's a chiropractor, who are not doctors & have no legitimate scientific backing. Ever notice they don't 'cure' anyone, & need to keep going back for more 'adjustments'? (Spoiler: nothing gets adjusted when they crack your back, it just feels good... for a little while)

I have the book You are the placebo sitting right next to me on the night stand. I’ve gotten through almost half and it really has helped me shift my thinking. Still a work in progress, especially dealing with a physical injury. But I am healing ❤️

I really love the illustrations. So many of our traumas stem from childhood and this really lends itself to healing our inner child. Simple and colorful means to express wisdom. Thank you.

The Emile Coué auto-suggestion affirmation hits it out of the park. “Day by day in every way, I am getting better and better.” 20x morning and evening. Rock solid in the 'in every way' part to cover EVERYTHING. Another oldie but goodie, "Negative thoughts and negative suggestions have no influence over me at any level of mind."
