USELESS Variants In PvZ GW2 

I think it's a bit of a cop out to say stock variants are useless if a Party character outclasses them, because that's pretty much the point of the Party characters.

Look, I get that Toxic damage isn’t as good as Fire damage, but that’s not the point of it. The point is that you deal that toxic damage by just being near someone. I get that this video is probably being talked from a strictly PvP perspective, but Toxic character variants are very useful for this reason in Ops and other PvE modes. Not to mention that in PvP, while it may not cause as much damage as Fire, it is still consistent damage that prevents health regeneration. And at the BARE MINIMUM, you have to acknowledge how incredible Toxic Brainz is. I love your vids man, especially the last two “Useless” videos so far, but failing to mention the ONE key aspect that makes Toxic variants different from Fire ones is a MAJOR oversight. Edit#1: I also am pretty sure that Toxic damage can spread from one enemy to another, sort of like electric, so in that way it’s kind of a middle ground between electric and fire, which is a valid role. Edit #2: I am aware that not all toxic characters have the “radiation around themselves” aspect, mainly Druid Rose & the Sanitation Expert, but a majority do.

5:37 - Technically the toxic aura (for once) does come into play here, since its activation range is the same as his spray length of 7 meters, so if you start dealing toxic damage when walking up to someone, you can safely say that they are comfortably within range of your spray attack. Pretty much the one and only thing toxic Chomper gets over fire Chomper but nothing too crazy. 5:45 - all spray Chomper’s have the same range n width so this isn’t something exclusive to fire Chomper. 6:18 - true, fire pea is better, unless we’re talking about gw1 toxic pea… then that’s a different story. 8:45 - true, rock pea’s health perk ain’t great with how much he sacrifices, but he does become the best peashooter to use if you swear by using Gatling constantly (since the armour does stack with his enhanced health pool) Thank you for coming to my nerd talk

Disco Chomper is another example of a useless variant, in my opinion. Yeah, he has a legendary meter, but if you want to get a speed boost by swallowing someone, Hot Rod Chomper is right there. And when it comes to the damage department, Disco Chomper is completely outclassed by Armor, Twilight and the Default Chomper.

The main difference with toxic damage is that it spreads from enemy to enemy and creates a domino effect. Fire damage doesn't. Still not great but at least there's a point. Also remember when Toxic Pea had 6m splash? That was disgusting

Idk if it was a thing in GW1 but I though the purpose of toxic damage was that it kind of spreads from person to person whereas fire doesn't. So if you infect someone with toxic and they stand to another player they also get toxic and it goes on little bit back and forth giving you higher damage overtime against multiple people.

For some reason for many years (when I was younger) I loved playing toxic pea and I was literally maining him. I guess i just liked his sound effects and overall feel of him lol. Pretty much i was playing him (and I'm still playing him) just for fun

I'm surprised he didn't bring up the fact that Chompers are kinda supposed to be a sneaky class and having a toxic aura isn't the best idea.

The only advantage of Toxic Damage is that, aside from the Damage Aura, Toxic damage also spreads like a virus, providing some method of easier DoT spread than Fire Damage. Although now that I think about it, can't DoTs stack? As for comparing Fire Variants and Toxic Ones, I'd say Flameface and Squawk are interchangeable depending on preference.

Honestly i feel like you shouldn't mention the base variants because well, it's the variant you start with, you can't expect it to be better than every other variant

This is why I think PvZ BFN is more balanced than PvZ GW2, in my opinion. There aren’t useless plants, zombies and they have their own variants and upgrades so you can play a different role, even though you have a designated role. You can play Support Nightcap, via reviving plants quickly in her hypnotic grenades, so you can get abilities back and deal with zombies with the shadow defense boost upgrade. PvZ GW2 has a bunch of zombies and plants that are very much outclassed, why use Stock Chomper if Disco Chomper deals more damage? Why use Citron if Ice Citron has a better primary? Why use MOST Footsoldier variants if the Stock Footsoldier is tied with Super Commando in S-tier?! In PvZ BFN, you have 2 All-Rounders which both are from opposite teams, which is Citron and Super Brainz, which in my opinion are the most OP characters in the game, but the others STILL play a crucial role in the team. I know PvZ BFN having no variants suck, but at least, IN THE VERY LEAST…the game is more balanced than it’s predecessors even it’s predecessors are better.

If I am not mistaken doesn’t toxic pea have better splash than fire pea? Also you can’t compare the stock characters to their party versions. That is kinda cheep because you get one for free and the other you have to work for. Not only that they are supposed do be a better version of the stock ones.

ok fuji u do know that toxic pea has a MUCH larger splash radius compared to fire pea so therefore toxic is a side grade to fire pea not a downgrade

Toxic damage isn't a downgrade of fire damage. Toxic peas isn't outclassed by fire pea, because toxic damage ment to have a huge blast radius, while fire is a more concentrated dmg And DAMN rock pea is underrated. Electro pea is so overrated. You have to shoot so slowly, because you can... No you MUST blow up your shots. That's by far the worst pea

How to buff all toxic chracters: Make toxic last longer the more you hit someone with it, kinda like poison damage. it still spreads to others but it does more dmg when it spreads and it lasts longer while doing the same dmg per tick, also increas the toxic aura of of the chracaters and make it were if they are in ur aura they take 5dmg per sec, along with a 15% dmg increase from all toxic sorces that are also in your aura. So say for example if a toxic pea and toxic citron are next to a zombie. you both will do 15% more dmg to them but not other variants that aren't toxic.

I think he forgot that toxic status can spread to nearby enemies and is a definition crowd control

Actually the toxic plants deal dmg to zombies just standing near them witch is great for the toxic chomper bc he's close range that means he's dealing double toxic dmg if he's shooting

Rock Pea might be "useless" compared to the rest of the Peashooters, however it's a Peashooter still. While Rock Pea doesn't have as much speed as the rest of the Peashooters, he still has the same small hitbox that the rest of them have. As well as having the same Peashooter kit of Abilities, which speaking of. Rock Pea's major benefit in my opinion is it's synergy with Pea Gatling's Armor Buff. Pea Gatling has a 60% Armor Buff which makes any Peashooter that equips the helmet and roots themselves into the ground have 60% more Effective Health. For most Peashooters that Effective Health is 200. For Agent Pea, that is only 160 which who tf uses Pea Gatling with Agent anyways? Rock Pea however gets 240 Effective Health with Pea Gatling's Armor. Which is actually pretty effective at survivability and is the one Peashooter that I'm comfortable enough with to use the ability on. So, while Rock Pea isn't useful, he certainly isn't completely useless. Just underpowered and a tad bit underrated in my opinion. *With Health Upgrade; 110 > 176 / 135 > 216 / 160 > 256

I never had thought I would've ever heard a GW2 player in general (either who hasn't played the game or is an experienced veteran) that Toxic Peashooter is the worst variant of all the peas. First of all, that is insanely incorrect, is he the best peashooter in the game? Of course not, is he the worst peashooter? Hell freaking no??? I will be a bit biased over this since I main Toxic peashooter in both GW1 and 2 but even then, a lot of players would agree that Toxic Peashooter is literally one of the best peashooters in the entire game, most would say even better than fire. Second of all, Toxic isn't a bad effect overall, yes, it's weaker than fire but what toxic characters usually excel at is their incredible lingering and burst damage for easy damage to the player even when you aren't good at aiming. And toxic becomes better once you know that Toxic also SPREADS on other players. I've been killed by toxic WAY more than fire because fire doesn't spread unlike toxic. And THIRD of all, if we are actually talking about the worst peashooter variant overall. You can give that crown to freaking Rock Peashooter. The ONLY thing going for rock pea is that it has more health. I'm pretty sure that rock pea is JUST a bulkier peashooter, not to mention it is freaking slow. It takes me ages to arrive from one checkpoint to the next with rock pea than with any other peashooter variant. Being able to live longer is great and all, but as many other "tanky" variants, you won't be able to live for long if you can't even kill the dude. A perfect example of the "tanky characters" problem is Iron citron himself. Before we start, i know that iron citron is freaking overpowered, but here's the thing, Iron Citron is absolute garbage unless you give him the reload upgrades. Once you give him those, Iron Citron absolutely dominates the battlefield from having high health and great dps because of his fire rate being upgraded. Edit: I just got to rock pea, I didn't notice that, but still if there are any other variants that could be worse than toxic pea, I would say variants like Ice or commando pea could be there. They aren't bad at all cause they're peashooters, but they aren't the best variants either. Ice isn't really a strong effect and Commando pea is just a foot soldier with a lower dps and a steeper damage dropoff

The real most useless chomper is Armored Chomper, for a class that relies on its fast burrow ability having it be very slow is not worth its dps and health. As chomper a lot of your kills should be from just eating opponents so his dps buff doesn’t even matter

They should make toxic damage last for longer but deal less damage. It should make fire damage better for offence but toxic damage to prevent natural healing

I find toxic brainz better tbh. He does 30 more on his 2nd and 3rd and 10 for ONE BEAM HIT. Not to mention that he also gets more toxic damage ig.

Archaeologist is just a worse Paeliontologist. Centurion is worse camo trooper. Citron is worse Party Citron.

Rock pea is so inaccurate because the shots take on some momentum from your movement direction, so if you walk to the left while shooticg, the shot will be angled to the left, it is not random, however utilising this is still pretty hard (also Painter has the same gimmick I believe)

Party imp also has 85hp

Imp is actually pretty good, even though it has a party imp, its still great for players like me who don't have any party characters. But the point of toxic variants is for when it damages zombies/plants near them due to the radiation, and toxic pea has a bigger cannon aoe(Good for hiders and partial misses.)

I dont hate your content, its actually quite good. One issue. Whilst the Abilities video did make sense: its so that players can learn to qdapt to what works for them. Same with characters. PvZ GW2 is about having goofy, funny haha moments all around ( I once saw a peashooter get sprint tackled into a ZPG, good times ) aln less abput dominating the ranks and having the whole lobby hate you because you have 192 kills in a game of gnome bomb as Astronaut.
