Wes Cecil's lectures are the gateway drug to higher thought and self-examination. I received 12 years of America's 'finest' public education. Joking aside, although I didn't graduate, I am grateful and indebted to the US taxpayer for financing my basic education considering my family's difficult economic circumstances. The stark reality is that in many countries I would most likely be an illiterate laborer with no freedom of time to discern, let alone even ask myself the type of meaningful philosophical questions Wes addresses in these lectures. That being said, Wes should be the template for all educators, public and private, to build from. His grasp of the subject matter, although impressive, is not unique. Instead, it is his ability to deliver his subject matter into my gray matter that is unparalleled. I offer a sincere "Thank you Wes..." for making these lectures freely available to anyone who seeks them, especially to those of us who never had the opportunity for higher education.
Hey Wes! I'm going to be starting a Philosophy club at my highschool and I've loved your lectures for awhile and plan to use them for the club. This series seems really useful for my club, how often will you be posting your videos?o Edit: By this I don't mean watching the video in club, but using what you're saying to plan lessons around
The problem with the way Wes Cecil formulates it from ca. timestamp 9:00 til 13:00 makes people belive wee evolve liniar, that knowledge is never lost, and wee have never known things, wee do not know now. Tribes has come and gone thousands of times. Hundreds of villages being cleansed, even before the Romans. Religion/creation of god's, and book burning. has time and time agian, kept us going backwards.
