I don't think people give enough credit to how stressful and mentally draining it is to play lame. You need to concentrate for the entire 99 seconds...
With a character like Elena, it takes no skill. Just throw out some pokes every now and again, focus fireballs, heal. Rinse and repeat. I played elena for a while but got so bored, so believe me I know.
The reason I like Street Fighter Tournaments is that no character is banned, so the lame shit is free and the pros just have to learn how to deal with it, which they do. I'm still very sad I didn't see an EVO final between Momochi and Infiltration but that's just what you gotta do. The lame is part of the game.
LOL I can tell the FGC is full of Maximilian following scrubs nowadays when they insult Jwong...you guys do realize he knows how to play rushdown as well, he's the very definition of solid. Good defense takes just as much skill as good offense in SF, unfortunately scrubs never understand this.
+Sunesen Yea. Justin spent more time walking/ bulldogging Momochi back and forth into the corners. Momo was backdashing and jumping back way more. People just wanna hate on Elena.
+Sunesen except Justin built his success at least in the SF series for playing cheap and lame. Even Daigo (when drunk) called him out on it. MOV the 3S god is also a cheap mofo but being cheap with Ibuki vortexes is on a different level. Especially when he can claim he has character specific ones for USF4.
How u know a character was broken in usf4? everyone had that char as a secondary. TOp 32 in that evo was full of poisons, decrapres and elenas. Ono almost ruined that game with a bunch of characters nobody asked for.
+rasenganb41 I love Elena specifically because of why a lot of people hate her, she lames you out and times your ass out. People don't like playing against that I guess, but I think they are just butthurt babies. She's awesome, what a unique and interesting style of character with the heal and everything thing. What would they prefer, another shoto who plays like everyone else? How boring! I think Unique characters like this is what can make fighting games great. But scrubs hate anything that forces them to actually think or exposes them as simple minded, poor players. *shrug* what are you going to do.
+sack943 Elena doesn't win the ERyu match up necessarily. JWong made the wrong choice of focusing too much on the healing game against the best damager shoto. I've seen better success with high level Elena players sticking to U1 to punish fireball spacing habits. Momochi knows Elena as well so he made the very smart counterpick which I don't think Justin knew exactly how to match up against.
Bad moment 37 reference and ppl yelling "LES GO JUSTIIIN" at the wrong moment makes me angry, even more then Jwong was dropping all combo. Wong don't kill u, he put u asleep.. with the fishes!
