I used to think that the middle channel in Two Brothers was a noob trap. Mainly bc, as my experience goes, 4/5 times will be a complete lemming train with a likely german BB as main character. However, by watching Trenlass play, I´ve come to grasp the great tactical value it has and how to make use of it. Quite telling about this dude´s ability.
Well if you consider what a middle push is and apply it to any other map where there isn't one gigantic channel covering one passage you see what it is; it's a power vacuum. Unless the exact same side on the other team does a middle push as well, there's always going to be a very obvious weak flank created on either your team or the enemy. That's why it's important to have vision early on in a Two Brothers map. And that's why it's such a strong tactic since if the side that faces the weak flank fails to pivots through their flank fast enough, it means they get pinched in the nastiest of crossfires, because the opposite flank is facing a near 1:1. It's also why most of the time it fails because the German BB's are spotted far too early by carriers in the push to make use of it, people can already begin positioning and angling before they even get near the channel exit. ALSO Middle Push =/= Middle Sail Into Enemy Spawn. THAT is the noob trap. It's more like: Middle Push Into Pillbox Spot Also shows just how exploitable it is if more than 2 ships attempts the push; just one torpedo boat DD is needed to hold two much bigger ships hostage in a channel making them useless to their team
