Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but Usher is arguebly the most complete R&B singer to ever do It. Charm, vocals, dance, stage performance, consistency and many more others.
After seeing this, I logged off, went to ticketmaster, bought my ticket to his residency in LV, booked my flight to LV and watched history. Alone. It was amazing
Usher is showing these folks why for 30 years he’s been the vocal standard. Raw talent and an amazing performer. Everything was done flawlessly - thanks Tiny Desk! This was EVERYTHING!
Vedo is an amazing singer. I'm in love with his version of Sam smith's "I know I'm not the only one" this entire performance was pure🔥🔥🔥 Usher definitely is a legend in his own right...
Lots of people forget or don't know. Usher grew up and was groomed by the music greats. While young he had puff , JD and babyface as mentors, hard work pays and it shows.
When you think about the fact that Usher has been singing, recording, and performing for about 30 years, it makes you appreciate how well he has taken care of his voice. He sounds so good, effortlessly.
As a professional musician, I really appreciate how classy it was for Usher to introduce his fellow musicians, who deserve the recognition for how great the groove and vibes are throughout the performance.
And this is why y'all have to respect Usher for those who think ANY of those suggestions are qualified for a VERZUZ against him. GOAT for spotlighting Eric Bellinger and VEDO. l great voices.
Facts!!!!!!! People keep asking for a vz with Chris brown. usher would body Chris he’s putting forth minimal effort and sounds this good. Songs have ages so gracefully quality over quantity and talent over technique
Vocally I think Usher and Chris would be a odd match. Y'all getting caught up in the dancing. Verzuz is not about dancing but the vocals. I don't know if Chris vocals can hold up.
Man’s been singing professionally for 30 years at this point and still sounds incredible live. A true testament to vocal technique and taking care of your instrument.
I love USHER'S singing and the attention he gives everyone who works with him. I thought I wrote a beautiful piece about him but it was not accepted. Love you Usher ❤❤❤ Carolyn JD Suddieth
He's been performing the majority of his life. This seemed sooo effortless for him. The vocals, the swag, the band!!! Usher Raymond you did not disappoint
Usher really has no business being this FINE! It’s ridiculous, he looks better every time I see him. Then this VOICE! Still as smooth as ever, aging like the finest of wines. There’s no competition!!!!!!
@@omegadrizzy7575 very true and the thing is Usher and MJ were Chris’ biggest influences so if these youngins were real Chris fans they should have known that
This is how an R&B singer says "sit down kids, let me teach you a lesson..."The man is a legends legend and NPR is GOATED for continuing to bring the best live performances. Also, I don't think people realize how tight this band behind him is and has to be. Credit to all the artists involved and Usher for putting this together
That was the thing that stood out to me as well and now I respect him hugely. Right off the bat, before he started, he acknowledging the overlooked musicians. He's the star but they all put in the work just like he does. He's like, I can't do my thing without this folks so I'm going to make sure everybody knows it. And he's using his influence to promote others.
Usher is one of the few male RnB artists that has crossed the lives of three generations of music fans. Folks in their early 50s, folks in their 30s, and now their late teens! It's amazing. Confessions will be my all time favorite album of his.
Anybody else FEEL like this was one of the greatest returns to OG NPR Tiny Desk Concerts!?!? Usher reminded us of his undeniable talent and why NPR tiny desk is one of the purest formats to showcase great music for music lovers!
It's easy to envision Usher being a mentor, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, friendly neighbor, etc... Such a likeable and relatable human. So glad he exists!
omg! I saw Usher in Vegas and it was the best concert ever, sat one row behind his mother and had back stage vip passes. he was in the hallway and I got to hang with all the crew
I love the fact that Usher highlighted his band and gave Eric Bellinger and Vedo the recognition they deserve. He is such a talent. LIVING LEGEND IN REAL LIFE
Hey guys. I’m aware that they are artist. I’m saying in this context they are his background singers (in respect to usher leading) No disrespect intended.
When you're confident in yourself, you can share the spotlight with those who are assisting you in your brilliance without being intimidated. That's Usher! Sheer Genius!
@@deannah.3643 meanwhile you're aging like milk and still think you have a chance with him? lol. he scores women 5 points hotter and 10 years young than you ever 3 minutes
This is already a top 3 Tiny Desk Concert for me. The way he introduces every member with him by name & the instrument they’re playing. Bringing Eric Bellinger & VEDO with them. The way he engages with the crowd and makes sure that they are involved as well. The small speeches he has in between songs as the band starts to play the next song he is introducing. Phenomenal. I know none of this is new but it just seemed so seamless the way Usher did it right on point and kicks every song of immediately so effortlessly. The engagement was very present. I know these are meant to be mini concerts but Usher needed AT LEAST another 20 mins. He has too many hits.
I met Usher when he was 15, not yet "USHER". Our interaction was brief, but I knew then I was gonna see more of him. He has grown into a fine young man and an incredible artist. We must protect him.💜💜💜💜
One negative about this Tiny Desk episode...it wasn't LONG ENOUGH!! Usher's catalog is extensive, but then I guess we'd be here all day. I have time tho!❤️👏❤️
This is the Usher show I always wanted to go. No gimmicks. Just a band and Usher in front of the mic showing his vocal skills. That's how you carry on tradition.
OMG...... I've been saying to myself and other's that I'll buy his CD but I'll NEVER go see him. I never thought he had the breath control to do both in MY opinion. When he sang at Michael Jackson's Funeral I said now why can't he just do a show where it's him on a stool and the band, no dancer's and fireworks and fire and loud noises and costume changes all that extra just doing too much bs 😂🤣🤣.... Just sang, this like you said, was the show I always wanted to see
This is why I love Tiny Desk. It’s so raw and you have to have some serious talent to be able to handle an environment like this. It’s stripped down. 😌
@@CacaoFlower It's cool for the younger crowd. Now tho he doesn't have to do all that plus he NEVER as far as I was concerned had the breath control to do both. Now that he's older he just needs to sang like he doing in this concert.
Usher pushing Vedo and Eric Like that is so so honourable because they’re really great vocalists!! I also loved how Usher did his own songs better than him🤌🏾🤣 NPR you did well on this one
I agree as well. His dance moves are amazing as well but it’d be nice for him to take an “unplugged” approach to a tour and play smaller venues and just let the voice shine.
@@BlueHouseSessions828 loool. You know you’re deep in the community shenanigations when you automatically understand what not being “embarrassed” means 🤣🤣🤣
Perfection. I had no idea Usher was only a teenager when he sang “My Way” and he’s only 44 now? Woo. So many hits. Can’t wait for his halftime show 💙💙💙
So clear. Mature and smooth. Im very impressed. I remember I served him at a restaurant a bunch of years ago. He looked so tired then. And to see him here looking healthy. Im happy for him.
👏🏽👏🏽🥰🥰💯💯 But Eric BEEN BEEN in RnB he wrote for plenty folks and was background. He wrote Usher Superstar if im not mistaken that's why Usher gave him lead for that.....Eric is just finally getting his recognition 👏🏽 and Vedo is more so new to the game. I understood your point tho with "this generation"
Eric been around for awhile and if 10yrs ago you was into The RU-vid Song Cover Phase you woulda known Vedo he was one of the more Popular RU-vid Singers that covered Songs back then
@@dmac24ism don’t worry, I know Eric and Vedo has been around for a long time. And I had a RU-vid cover as well but didn’t know Vedo til a little bit later. They are very talented and passionate about their craft ♥️
Master class on how R & B is supposed to sound. It’s being imitated but cannot be duplicated. We must give our artist their flowers while they’re with us. Usher deserves these moments. He’s given us so many memorable classics.
Repent to Jesus Christ “just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”” Matthew 20:28 NIV I
They’re not actually background singers they’re solo artist. Both great artists too. They can just actually sing and more than likely doing this favor for him because why not. It’s usher.
I watched the BET AWARDS and the R&B singers were huffing, puffing, off pitch, out of breath, pitch correction in the mic and still sounding bad. This was a vocal masterclass by Usher. Vocals still matter.
The latest crop of artists don't invest in vocal training from a young age, some do not even know what key they will be singing in and many do not put in the hours in terms of stage performance or presence.
