In this video we present the technique Ushiro ryote-dori ikkyo ura waza.
We explain the principal movements and show potential mistakes in a funny way at the end.
This time we focus mainly on the transition from the attack to the ikkyo technique in the version ura waza - behind the attacker.
You can find more detailed explanation of the ikkyo spiral movement itself as well as information about things to avoid in our earlier videos covering ikkyo technique from different attacks:
• Shomen'uchi ikkyo ura ...
• Suwariwaza shomen'uchi...

When I see ushirodori I remember last technique of Budo Renshuu and wonder if anyone interested about it today. How about you? Do you interested of old Aikido?

Hello. O’Sensei’s original book “Budo” is always an interesting reference to Aïkido, as it was his understanding of techniques in the early period of Aïkido. He, of course allowed his techniques to evolve throughout his life, as well. Many of our basic techniques follow the lineage of the “Iwama” ryū through Morihiro Saito Sensei who was one of the longest ushideshi of O’Sensei. Including the past helps us understand ourselves in the present, which also allows one to change ourselves for the better in the future. If we never evolve, there is never growth and we stay stagnant…our abilities and understanding become outdated. So including the old Aïkido is important for our growth. O’Sensei’s other book “The Art of Peace” is also important to understand this sense of evolution that O’Sensei talked about. Maybe you can comment more about what you feel is “Old Aïkido”? And maybe say even what you consider “New Aïkido” to be?

@@AikidoVirtualDojo I looked all of these books and must say that Budo Renshu contains a lot of so called 'forgotten' techniques can't be seen in any modern dojo. Ueshiba complete different books for different types of students if you ask me. Old Aikido this is what elder Ueshiba did actually however modern Aikido is his students creation. Old Aikido rarely could be found nowadays but it's Art of Piece roots that couldn't be neglected. Luckily old Aikido still presents on globe and transmits as it should. If you want to talk more about old and modern Aikido you may contact me via WhatsApp that's on my profile.

At 1:30 you didn't do anything to break his balance, because you are standing to high and you didn't lower your opponent and you could lose him but he is a good uke.and he fell down, but he could relax and your technic wouldn't work

Probably true. There are so many things that COULD happen and that we COULD do. Mostly we are practicing and explaining basic setup of the technique. More details and actual practice comes in the real training in the dojo 😉.

@@durwardburrell5496 It is not about could,it is about deceiving yourself and him.I have got a big experience in aikido and I can see whena person exaggerate the move. His nikke at this level wouldn't work, but respect is really important.:)

Keep also in mind that in our videos we are demonstrating and explaining specific technique, not trying to "fight" against each other and make it impossible to explain

Every technique can be reversed by uke (kaeshiwaza), but then we go into a different kind of practice that would make it difficult to show and explain a specific technique being subject of the video
