If the editor reads this: relax, you're doing way too much. When he speaks and you want to quickly cut to his next line, just cut between them while you're already zoomed in on his face. There's no point in a bunch of 1 second bits between him talking and your zooming. Also, zooming in closer and zooming back out is just poor form. Zoom in to a certain amount when necessary, don't overdo it unless it's relevant to an editing meme you're doing
Hey Matt, I appreciate you releasing videos a day earlier for channel members. I would love to watch them beforehand, but unfortunately I watch your videos together with my girlfriend (who lives overseas) and she is not a channel member. When I told her about this she said "don't cheat on me" so I can't watch your videos earlier thank you for making us laugh and have a good time
Matto, you don't need to keep aiming down sight throughout the whole stunt jump, merely tapping it to disable the cinematic cam is enough you tap it on 4:02 but you hold it on 1:37
for the jump in the courtyard, you are correct, damage to the suspension makes it way harder. if you get there with a damaged 9f, you can grab a car off the street (there should be one parked near the landing area), do the jump in that car, and get back in the 9f. just make sure you don’t get too far from the 9f (park it by the landing area, turn left to circle back to the jump and you’ll be fine)
Great Video, glad I got to see this earlier lol. One thing I noticed is the editing is inconsistent with the "Dawn of the X Run" slides. Didn't do it for the third run. I get if it was left out as to not ruin the pacing of the video. Also the 58 in the title with the space unless I am wrong...
Great video, good editing, I'm able to follow along easily enough. A few more meme jokes would be nice. Overall I give this video 9 out of 10 thumbsup Keep uploading your practice runs like this, following your progression of how you eventually will achieve the record makes for a good series or something. Thank you Matt for the video. Random thought: they make welcome mats, but no thank you mats 🤔😂
Dear Matto I know this comment has a high chance of not being seen as you probably have a lot of comments and not enough time to read them all. But I have decided to write it anyway since there is little to no downside in writing a nice comment. I got introduced to your content when out of curiosity when I clicked on a GTA 5 Chaos Mod video. That video got me completely hooked on your videos and I have been watching them ever since. Our time zones don't match up well so I can't attend stream that much but when I see you are live I stop by for a bit. A long while back I saw Charlie's video on you and that was my introduction to your views on react content. After the smoke had cleared I ended up respecting you 10x more as not just a content creator but as a person and I made sure I watched all your videos regarding the subject as it really did fascinate me. I am making no joke when I say that you are one of , if not the most intelligent person I have seen on social media. The way you articulate your views so clearly is something I greatly admire. Your criticism of reaction content has greatly impacted who I watch and don't watch on RU-vid. I want to end this message by saying thanks for fighting the good fight. Although your efforts are seldom recognised you are helping people by educating them and that is objectively a good thing. Yours truly - Dude in RU-vid comments (PS. I also really love the new "Viper Rambles" channel. I always listen to it when I'm playing Minecraft late at night so thanks for that too)
Great video Matto Maybe check the landing zone boundaries on that jump that keeps tilting your car, if I remember right you can go slow and land right below the ramp avoiding the car tilt from the higher speed. Maybe someone else can find your vid with the boundaries turned on to check, I couldn't find it for some reason.
The secret to hitting things with stunt jumps... If you hit something with only the bottom of your vehicle, then it will still pass, but if it hits the sides or top at all, it will fail. This is of course on top of having to land in the correct area.
I really love the highly edited speedrun challenge videos you've been doing. I hope that after you finish the Stunt Jump series, you'll do more smaller speedrun categories. One criticism I can give is the background music. I dislike how there isn't any variety. It's just the same track, played on loop pretty much. For example, when I edit my friends videos, I make sure to never keep the same music running indefinitely throughout the video. So whenever there's something that, for example, funny is happening on screen, I switch up the music to match the current vibe of what's happening at that moment. In the stunt jump series, what I would do is I'd change to a different song when you reset the run. I'd also probably temporally pause the current music that is playing and swap it out with something different whenever you're stuck on a particular jump for a long time. Then after you complete that jump, I'd resume the the main music.
Man I just started watching DVAU few months ago. I’ve never respected and liked someone’s content so much. The sheer dedication and effort he puts into his videos and on stream are super appreciated. Haven’t had a favorite RU-vidr in years but darkviper really changed that
I can confirm. I, in fact, have to do my homework but I procrastinate by watching this video. Thank you Matt for confirming my belief, that this is indeed the good decision.
Your videos are the type that make me sad when they come to an end, literally. Please continue with the rest of the weapons "you absolute legend of a bald idiot" from the heart with love :3
The entire 12:00 minute - that's fully down to the car. Suspension collapsed on one side. Also, tilting the car down makes it glide further, not land sooner.
Hey Matto, I think I found a way to keep the red car, while mission skipping in franklin and lamar. I would have to test it more, but as I remember, you have to get in the red car and damage it to fail, it then keeps you in red car if you mission skip. Would it be benificial to this speedrun? Then I can test it out more, and submit the exact strat if you need
Those jumps in truck trailers by the warehouse docks whatever it is, I tried those a few times when I first played and did not care to after that, they are so finnicky It is still insane to me that of all the collectables and sets of things the player has to do, all stunt jumps is the one that does not reward anything except having done it Edit: And on top of that, Rockstar thought anyone at all would prefer form over function, and decided the mess of architecture at 11:53 was somehow worth making a stunt jump, curved stairs with a curved fence and npc spawns in the way
I wonder if we are gonna mess with him so hard for this that he makes a live event where he basically says "You think you can do better than me? You dense absent minded buffons, here's a challenge for you. I'm going make an even next time and whoever gets the fastest time that day wins my approval."
Certain cars in the game have suspension that is really sensitive to damage and the 9F is one of them. I don't know the technical reasons why, but visual deformation heavily effects those cars. The 9F suspension will 'collapse' on any given corner that takes a hard enough hit, and this is visualized with the car clipping into the ground. (Note: This is not how real suspension damage works.) The damage to your car was cut out of the video, as you simply appear on the golf course at 11:32 with the right rear crumpled, but you can see that for every ramp and landing after that, the right rear clips into the ground. Because of the natural jank associated with the mall ramp, the right rear is basically clipping through the ramp, thus launching only the left side off the jump. Basically, if the 9F sustains severe damage around any of it's wheels or corners, you're going to have a bad time.
You can play around with the damage on cars by crashing into trains. Your car will likely be instantly disabled in single player, so I suggest doing it Online. The train has some kind of property that magnifies damage upon contact and the added durability of vehicles online means you can really crumple a vehicle while maintaining driveability. It's a lot of fun.
