The Samsung Folder2 is one of the last of a dying breed of phones... The Flip Phone. Of course the Folder2 is far more advanced than those old school flip phones like the Motorola Razer etc. The Folder2 runs Android, features dual cameras and a touch screen. The Folder2 is unlikely to replace your iPhone X, iPhone 8 or Galaxy S8 but for the right person it just might be what they're looking for. I have to admit, there's something satisfying about flipping a phone and having a good old fashioned phone call. The Folder2 retails for around $350 (converted price) and is available in parts of Asia including South Korea. The camera is probably the most disappointing part of this device as it's no where near the expected quality of a Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, Note 8, iPhone 8 or iPhone X. That said, it's only $350 so it's tough to compare to Apple's and Samsung's flagship smartphones. I'm thinking the the Folder2 could be popular amongst the older generation, those looking to avoid devices that are fully touch navigated like the Galaxy S8 or iPhone X.

I'm a high schooler in South Korea and this phone is not intended for seniors like most might presume, haha (not the one you are thinking about probably anyway). It's intended for high schoolers especially h.s. seniors that are preparing for college entrance exams so that they won't be distracted to use their phone all the time. I'm going to be a senior in March and most of my friends have this exact phone. :P Just thought I'd let you know.

It's sort of getting replaced bit by bit with smarphones. But yes, It's still insanely huge in Eastern Asia. You can get your flip phone customized there even. :)

Not so much anymore but it's still in much larger use there than most other countries. Smartphones are becoming mainstream at this point over there. Flip phones were often seen as trendy fashion statements. There were so many trinkets companies sold to put on them. That's how it remained popular for so long.

I live in Korea and I’ve seen a lot of young kids having that flip phone. In fact, it might be a perfect phone for young kids. It’s affordable, it just basic stuff done very well, and also runs android!

Amazon for 600 and up eBay single sim or dual SIM for 400 and below and if your in the US it'll only work on at&t networks or the mobile I wanna try a different service when I get mine eventually since he was able to make a call on video. So don't quote the service available but they're still all over eBay ships from South Korea

The Nokia brick is one of the best phones. They had the best battery as I had one for four years and it still works. I recharged it and it took a month to run out. Great old phones.

thank you so much for this review, I just ordered one of these as my current flip-phone is one of those "cheapo" phones and the hinge is currently broken. I literally had it for a year and 3 months before it broke. Companies need to make high-quality stuff like this nowadays. It's unfortunate that there are no good alternatives to smart-phones because this is exactly what I'd need to get work done, because I'm not on social media all the time.

As someone who has being doing work outside, I have to say that a phone like this is super useful, because it's lighter, so it doesn't move like crazy in the pocket, and you can attach a cord to it and tie it to your belt for extra safety.

I would use one of these, what's so hard about putting a separate screen on the bottom and minimizing the bezels so it flows well I hate the idea of actual folding screens it seems they will never be durable enough or fold as flat, but if you made a dual screen flip phone with super thin bezels that will open 180° itd be awesome

flip phones. Those were the days. I miss those days. I also had a razr. It felt so good to just flip it open. When you're talking, just close the lid and put it back into your pocket. Never had to worry about the screen accidently turning on at any time or worry about the phone getting hot or crashing. Sigh. The newer generations just don't know what they missed
