It's not jiggling that you need. It's up and down movement to displace that ball and then allow the ball to fall back again. If you could tie a dowel rod to the end of that thing so that the hose moved exactly up and down in line you could prime it in a couple pushes This works on the same premise as an old-fashioned red handle pump in the yard.. the more directly up and down you can move it the better
