Good little piece of kit. You're right it is slow and for small stuff I could probably split it with an axe faster. If you're concerned about noise, gasoline fumes or even maintenance they are great.
I didn’t have an axe. I wouldn’t axe if I don’t have to. I’d tire myself out before I got to work. But my friend has one too! He uses it for his campfire in the backyard. True it is maintenance free. My gas one i had work on in the meantime. That’s rolling now. Way faster. However this little one is good for a few friends kids to mess with if they wanna help.
Thanks for the video! I've been debating renting a giant gas powered one from Home Depot for $109/24 Hours - Or, buying something like this. I don't have many trees to cut or a bunch to split, so this might be a great choice.
I didn’t want to rent a gas one around here for $100 a day and you have to supply the gas. $100 damage deposit as well. While my gas one is getting tuned up.
Not trying to dog you in ANY way by ANY means..just strictly stating out of my opinion...with that speed, I'd rather use an axe. Then again...im a fuckin weirdo and actually enjoy splitting wood. As in, i have a log splitter in my shed that just sits there with a giant pile of split wood outside that i have absolutely no reason for other than fires in the summer lol.
