Looks great, unfortunately I can't get my phone to connect to the chrome app :( They are on the same Wifi. What else can I do to prompt the app to recognise my phone as an input?
Thanks for this! At 6:32 I see that you have 2 windows, current content and live view. Is there anything you had to do to get both of these at the same time? My view only shows one. I'm a teacher and I would like to be able to use a document camera and have students see me in Teams. However, I don't see the option for a secondary camera (nor do I see these left and right hand views as you have. Help?
Hi Ana, that view is in a live event screen. If you want to show the document camera and your webcam in a normal Teams meeting with your students you need to use the share screen option. It's the arrow in the actions bar in the middle of the screen during the meeting. Using that you can share the Visualizer software window and your students will also be able to see you on your webcam, but smaller as the Visualizer will be the main view. I hope that helps.
I have a smart phone LG V30 with Android version 7.1.2. IPEVO iDocCam app says my device ins't compatible with its current version. What do I have to do now? Help me, please. Thank you in advance.
Hi, unfortunately the iDocCam app requires minimum of Android 8. You should be able to update your phone to at least Android 8 as apparently the V30 supports at least version 9. Try going into your phone settings and using the 'check for updates option.
Hi Cristy, have you checked that your WiFi network is set to be a private network? If it is set to public then the software won't find your phone. I hope you get it working.
@@TimDolan Mine isn't either. I changed my WiFi to a private network, paired them using Bluetooth and even connected them using the USB cord. Nothing is working.
Hi Tina, I'm sorry to hear you are having problems getting this working. In the Visualizer software is the IDocCam listed in the cameras? Are you using Android or an iPhone? Try closing IDocCam and Visualizer completely and starting them up again? You could also try making a WiFi Hotspot with your phone and connecting your computer to that. I hope you get it working.
@@TimDolan Thanks so much for your speedy reply. I tried the Hotspot last night with no luck. I tried closing and restarting the apps multiple times. I have an Android phone, so there are fewer resources online to address my specific need. Most of the tutorials out there are Apple-based. And, no, unfortunately, idoccam isn't listed in the cameras. I'm so bummed. As a math instructor, I was really hoping this was going to be my go-to for real time virtual instruction.
Are you able to use your phone as a visualiser if you're phone is using mobile data? I'm in school (though teaching online) and don't have access to the wifi for my mobile. Thanks
How do I get the IPEVO app to show up in the share option? I don't know how to get the computer and the phone to communicate, I have the phone connected through USB and the app is open on the phone.
Hi Tim, my phone is not showing up as an option. Do I need to change my wifi setting? It is my home wifi so I would assume it is already private? I am on a Mac, and I can't seem to find a way to change it. Thanks in advance!
It's likely to be to with your WiFi settings on your Mac. Something may be stopping the IPEVO software seeing your phone. Check whether you are in stealth mode in your network settings. This article might help www.macobserver.com/tips/how-to/macos-sierra-firewall-stealth-mode/
Thank you! I was finally able to get my iPad connected and can show documents but the bottom half of the image is always blurred. I had to pay for the 0.99/month subscription to download the app. Is there a way to correct this image without paying for the more expensive version?
Hi Jennifer, great to hear you have got it connected. Sorry you are still having issues. The OTS version is exactly the same as the one you have. Do you have the phone flat? The most likely thing is that the camera on the phone is different distances from the top and bottom of what you are trying to show. It would also be worth checking that your phone camera is clean. I hope you get it sorted.
@@TimDolan oh great thAnk you, I think I will surely try this method..Big help. I tried direct mobile table top screening through video sharing on teams, I wasn't able to lock the focus . This should surely help. ThAnks from India.
Thanks Tim - can Live Events in Teams be set up without the calendar? (We don’t have that option available to us because of Exchange being locally hosted)
If you don't have access to the calendar then I don't know of a way to set up a live event. You should be able to schedule meetings though as those can be done from channels including via the Web app.
@@TimDolan Unfortunately the only scheduling we have at the moment is via the Outlook extension (not exactly brilliant!). Thanks for your insight though 👍
Hi Jill, yes it will work in exactly the same way on Zoom. You need to share your screen and choose either entire desktop or the IPEVO application window.

The IDocCam app is not free any more (it was when I made the video). They have a one time payment option and a subscription (good if you only need it for a short time) with a one month free trial.
