If I use an apple AirTag, do I choose when to actually ping the AirTag? Or does it ping on its own? I’m renting out cars through Turo and just want to be sure the renter isn’t getting notified of random pings unless of course he’s past the return date of the car.
It does the ping automatically to any iphone it comes in contact with. It will be notifying people if the same iPhone has been pinged consistently for three hours straight.
Thanks for your video I’m new to Turo. How many cars do you have on Turo and is it worth it? I also just got the AirTags and wondering if I should put it on my description went renting vehicle out.
Well its optional, I personally don't mind telling them, but some guests may feel uncomfortable. Really I just would disclose it on the check in text and not talk about it again unless asked.
Hello, thanks for watching. I completely agree. its a bit awkward, but the benefits do outweigh this only negative at least in my opinion. They can't turn off the tag unless they find it.
I got a AirTag to use as a tracker for my vehicle if it was stolen will I be able to use it on my apple iPhone 8plus ? I was told it wouldn’t offer me the tracking option on my phone because it is so old
I think that as long as your phone has the newest Io version you should be good, Not sure if Apple is still giving updates for th Iphone 8 but if they do then you should be good.
Thinking of purchasing an air tag for my car in case it gets stolen. My question is if my car gets stolen by someone that has an iPhone, will they get an alert on their phone that they are being tracked? Then they would be alerted there’s a tracking device in the car, right?
They will get notified once they've been pinged 3 hours consecutively. So in other words you got 3 hours to find out, but if you hide it will, even if they get notified, they can't turn it off. unless its found.
