Not sure if this is why, but I always make sure i take the scales off the point of the hook because they will prevent the point from penetrating like it should.
@watersedgetv that's awesome! I've tried using live bluegill under bobbers to catch snakehead. However, every time I try to set the hook, it rips through the bluegills' noses, and I lose the fish I'm trying to catch, along with my bait.
