3 different moods = 3 different Art Meditations! In this video, I talk through how color symbolism and brush strokes can invoke a mood during your Art Meditation.
Sometimes, I'm feeling a certain way and I want to lean into it. I'll choose colors and line work that helps me bring these feelings more forward. For example, when I'm feeling really intuitive, my Art Meditations usually end up with more flowy brush strokes and blues and/or purples.
Other times, I might be feeling more along the lines of "blah" and I want to intentionally choose colors and line work that helps me shift first into the present moment, and then into a more desired feeling state. For example, if I'm feeling apathetic, I might use warm colors and jagged lines to invoke some energy.
Experimenting with colors and how they make you feel is a fun process! Over time, you'll start to come up with your own color symbolism key. And pay attention to how you draw lines when you're feeling different emotions. When is your line work heavier? More jagged? Shorter? More scribble-y?
Art supplies used in this video:

- pre-dried watercolor "blob" (made with brush pens)
- Sharpie marker
- paint markers
Final note: Music can also affect your Art Meditation, because music is a great influence of mood - I use three different tracks in this video to underscore that idea (all puns in this paragraph intended!)
