Using fiberglass mesh for large scale mosaic

Here I'm showing how I create large scale mosaic artwork on fiberglass mesh in sections, so they can be set into mortar on location, and will fit together seamlessly. I teach this method as a 2-hr course on Mosaic Arts Online, so this 51-second video isn't intended to be a tutorial. It's just for anyone interested in seeing how the process works when I separate sections from a large area so I can set it aside and move the whole project along my work table. This particular mosaic is 24.5' long, so I could only fit about 8-feet on my table at a time. When I remove a completed section, I slide the whole project down so I can add more mesh and mosaic.
I use Laticrete Thinset: Platinum 254. I do not get this kind of bond with any other thinset.
Oh, and the course can be found here: mosaicartsonline.com/p/profes...

Beautiful job, where do you buy the stones from the square ones

I purchased the stones for the border from Stone Center Online. The glass smalti (blue material) is from Smalti.com. Smalti is small-batch, hand-rolled glass, ideal for floors and walkways. The smalti I used is made in Cuernavaca, MX.
