I used Gemini to plan my solo vacation in the USA. It helped me with finding cheap flights, cheap AirBnbs, and learning about the local public transport facilities. One thing I like about Gemini is that it supports Tamil language really well while its competitors (ChatGPT 4 & Claude Opus) are still struggling!
Yep, AI does the summary / text you have requested, however due to being in development it can mess up factual info about 20% of the time. Due to that it's imperative to check Names, dates and mathematics behind AI responses.
AI or not, you should ALWAYS verify your sources or the information that is presented to you. It has always been a best practice, in your personal life, in your professional life and in any fields in between. Never trust blindly and at a first glance what you've been fed with.
Something new to me is that Google's Ai has recently started to giving erroneous answers to searches, for instance when I introduce "what vitamins cannot be mixed" the answer in different links may contain "vitamin d cannot be mixed with concentrated sulfuric acid" or otherwise answers would point that two specific vitamins cannot be mixed when in reality it is always recommended to take both as a dietary supplement. In fact Google has developed a sort of reddish personality to all activities and interactions.
Brilliant! Some excellent examples of what AI can help us do in everyday activities. 🤖 😃 The characteristics that will help us and shape the future of education and learning for both students and adults. 🏫 🧑🏫 👩🏫
While the animation is gorgeous, the message is.... easily taken as 'just let AI do it all'. Brainstorm different endings for your story (to write it yourself)? How many would just let AI write the whole of it for them, rather than putting the hours in? AI "artists" are already using AI without putting artistic effort in - they sure typed the prompts with their own fingers, so that means they 'did it on their own', doesn't it? :/ I'm worried that kids will stop learning, instead AI will be solving everything for them. And as someone below mentioned - if jobs are taken by AI, why bother learning anything anymore? I'm finding this AI revolution quite disturbing because there doesn't seem to be anyone in control of how far and how fast this is going.
Whether you are a student looking to excel in your studies or a professional aiming to stay ahead in your field, utilizing generative AI for learning can be a game-changer.
What if we developed an AI tutor that not only helps you learn what you need or want but also understands how you learn? By administering an interest exam, the AI could gauge your learning style and tailor conversations and ideas to keep you engaged and focused on the subject. This wouldn't replace traditional teaching but would enhance understanding, allowing students to catch up without compromising educational standards. As knowledge evolves with each generation, education must adapt to maintain a social connection and advance. Learning, like life, requires adaptation, and this concept bridges the gap, meeting both students and educators halfway. It's an exciting prospect for AI with tremendous potential.
I just hope this thing will be free and without creating a different app; they give Google Lens an upgrade so that it transitions from questioning to suggestion, and from that to clicking a picture to understand everything in one app.
When you trust Google and its thinking and trust, wherever you feel alone and disappointed, every step of the way, there is a guiding language or cultural heritage.
