Yeah. Finding a needle in a haystack will take forever, sure, but it's just hay. Finding a piece of hay in a needlestack, however, will take forever, but you'll also stab yourself many times.

You being a geology major definitely makes sense. I now understand why in the "all screens in one year video" had you discussing the formation of some of the gems IRL. You learn something new everyday! Thanks for the geology lesson :)

@7:36 Actually, freezing ground beneath water or when the ground is wet is done in real life sometimes to dig a pit or tunnel without water leaking in and eroding the walls. Once you build your basement or tunnel walls, you turn off the cooling and let the ground settle in against it.

i hope you got to use this as part of an actual assignment. you know one of those ones where they ask, "hey. try to apply our very specific type of science to real life." I definitely had those as filler assignments in my fluid dynamics labs

Great video, but isn't this more "teaching geophysics using terraria" rather than "using geophysics in terraria"? None of this geophysics knowledge is required (or arguably particularly helpful) to come up with either of these strategies, but your explanations of how these concepts can be applied to the real world were interesting.

Yeah technically those are grass blocks in TEdit but I did change them for the actual test later.

Challenge ideas: Time sped up (nocturnal bosses are brutal now), Glass run (200 max HP through life crystals at the most, no armor, but other defense-boosting things are allowed), Terraria but you're a masochist (Wall of Flesh as the first boss, Fuke Dishron as the second, and no skipping pillars), Terraria but on the No Traps seed (if you can find a mod that does this, mix it with For the Worthy), Terraria but with only pre-hardmode items, Terraria but with only 10 inventory spaces (makes the most annoying part of the game even worse), Terraria true melee only (The Twins make me question if this is even possible)... and finally, to convince Wand of Sparking to actually do all of these. Maybe the Time Sped Up and Inventory Spaces challenges are too not unique, so maybe don't do those, and the glass run is unoriginal so you can ignore that if you want. Oh, and for True Melee Only, if you decide to do it... good luck. >:)

If you're taking Geophysics could you possibly help me settle a debate? A couple of my relatives seem to think that A) The earth has over 1e+100 grains of sand (at least, which is absolutely ridiculous and erroneous), and B) How could they possibly even count it when there's so many deserts, beaches and dips in terrain? I really want to learn a bit about this so I can understand how they do it, I have theories, lasers/rays maybe? mathematical formula and the use of geological data over the years to make an estimate, but I want to know properly, not just vague maybes.
