During the time of Samuel the prophet, the Israelites had an enemy - the Philistines. In chapter 4, the Israelites suffer a humiliating defeat, but by chapter 7, they are victorious by the help of God. We see that the result of battle was dictated by the posture of their heart in relation to how they viewed their God. In today’s study, we’ll discover one major principle for us to live by today in order to best experience the relationship God is calling us to have with Him.
