Using Hakchi 3.8 - Part 03 (Adding Arcade Games [MAME + NEO GEO] To Your NES, SNES & Sega Mini)

In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to properly add Arcade games (MAME & NEO GEO) to your NES, SNES or Sega Genesis Mini.
*This video assumes you have watched the previous videos in this series*

If you are adding games from other systems to the NES or Sega Genesis Mini, you will need to purchase one of these controllers to get full functionality.

- Bandai WonderSwan: Mednafen WonderSwan (Might show as Beetle WonderSwan when assigning core to console)
- Bandai WonderSwan Color: Mednafen WonderSwan Might show as Beetle WonderSwan when assigning core to console)
- ColecoVision: BlueMSX
- Commodore C64: Vice x64 Xtreme (Requires BIOS)
- GCE Vectrex: vecx
- NEC PC Engine TurboGrafx16: Mednafen PCE Fast (Might show as Beetle PCE Fast when assigning core to console)

Anyone have a list of the Neo roms that needs to be imported as AS-IS? I have 161 so was thinking of drag and dropping them all and fix the broken ones when I come across them.

I saw a person choose 5 games and make them run automatically randomly and continue where they left off in each game in a random time between 3 and 5 minutes. Do you know anything about this?

I've tried it all ways, with non merged roms. It's always the same thing, black screen and after a few seconds it goes back to the menu.

Great video I liked and subscribed... Been dying to play Wrestlefest for years espcially on my TV and not a smart phone. Do you know which Full non merged ROM set has it? I'm not sure which one to download and I want to make sure it's the one that has Wrestlefest in it. I'm a complete newbie at this so any info would be great thanks.

Hi, I have a modded Classic NES Mini with Hakchi 3.8.0. I love your videos and followed this one to a T. I'm trying to add MAME 2010, I'm using a 2010 core and 2010 non-merged ROM sets. When I finish doing what you're doing and I re-connect my unit to my TV, MAME is there, but when I press the game box art to play the game, the screen goes black for a couple of seconds and then goes back to the list of games system art.. All of my other systems and games are fine. They come right up and are ready to play. Can you please take a minute and help me? Thank you and I hope you can help me.

By any chance, haven't You had problems with the second player botons on MAME2010 core??? I already mapped them but still, is not working good :S

When I try to open FTP client a window messages saids that it can only run on winPE or WinRE any suggestion.

I found a bug on Mame2010 core, the emulator does not Work well for the 2nd player, there are two botons that do not respond, I already maped the 2nd control botons but still they do not work, do you Know if we can use a different emulator for mame games? Or do you Know how to run CPS2 games on snes mini??? Once again, the MAME2010 core does not work properly. Thank you so much, your videos are great...!!!

Followed your tutorial, but games give me error C7 and don't launch, or sometimes, I click screen turn black, then I get back to games list why?

This could be caused by a number of things. Maybe you don't have non-merged roms. Maybe the roms you have chosen don't work (not every one will). Maybe your roms need a different core. When I made this video, I knew 100% that my roms worked on the MAME 2010 core

I can't really find the full 2010 non-merged romset online. I can find one that seems to be a sample of random games but not one that seem to have what seems to be hundreds of them and especially most of the ones I actually want to play like in your video. Also, when adding these arcade games to Hakchi, how do you determine if it's going to include all the files for the game or not, such that you might choose to add it "as is" instead of "as archive".
