Princess of disks note: she is considered the lowest card (furthest away from ascension) in the deck, which in fact makes her the closest to the highest highs on the tree of life, she is the ultimate beginning and therefore closest to the end in the cycle of ascension she can almost literally smell it. Yet in order for her to get there she has to climb the full tree of life to obtain what she’s caught whiffs off all her life and has been closest to all her life. That long journey ahead for something that has always seemed so in reach definitely gives me risk everything to gain everything vibes to me.
LOVE THIS SO MUCH! And yes... in a way she's the "World" card of the entire Tarot... kinda. :D The end and the beginning... the bottom and the top.... a work in progrses. :D
I watched both videos and then immediately bought it. I haven’t studied Thoth yet, but this is the deck I want to use when I do. I’m pleased that the deck won’t languish until I’m ready to study Thoth because I’ll be able to use it as an Oracle. I’m stoked. Thank you for inspiring me and helping me grow my practice. ♥️
This was so much fun and I really enjoyed exploring the deck as a Tarot (I've refrained from that so I could focus on the oracle for our videos!) The color correspondences are fantastic. Thank you for doing this Collab with me, it was so fun! ❤️
Soooo....my daily card today is the 7 of swords and my day did not start off right. Never thought of the self-defeating thought and the things you talked about with the 7 of swords is very resonant.
Your reflections on the differences and things that stood out to you in your study were tremendously expansive! I really enjoyed how that simplified deck attempted to dial in to an overarching message for each card! Your musings gave more dimension and insight to cards that have been popping up frequently for me this month. TFS!!💖💗💖
I found this on a Tarot forum: "the legs of both The World and Hermit create the shape of 4. Four symbolizes the earth with its four directions and the unconscious. So The Hanged Man would mean that he has turned the world on its head by reversing his sense of values and the figure of The World is made up of shapes that create the Tree of Life, but the top shape is superconsciousness, the middle, consciousness and the bottom, unconsciousness. The World has unified the levels of consciousness into one state, one entity rather than fragments."
I just love hearing your thoughts on this, Lisa!! I always learn so much from viewing a deck through your eyes and hearing your take on it - thank you so much for sharing! 😊🙌
Wow!! That was a lot of info. I'm still very new to tarot and recently became obsessed with Lenorman after one of your videos. I think I'll enjoy the Thoth through your videos. My brain might explode if I try adding another system.
Scrumptious video. Of course I am Thothy so this deck was an obvious choice for me. I got it as a gift from my son...thank goodness! I missed her last deck, and I LOVE this artwork.
Great video. I've had this deck several months and love it. I wrote the number and suit in silver sharpee in the corner of the pip cards (2C, 5D, 8S, 9W, etc) and also edged it in black. I also love to pair it with the wild essence thoth deck .
I LOVE the Outgrow Yourself, it was so good to watch this side by side. I was never a fan of the Crowley Thoth Art, but I do like seeing how much of the key symbolism was kept by Outgrow.
So I received this deck while I was dealing with shingles so it was what I needed I could do a spread and really not have to think. I enjoyed your take on the deck! Love and Light to you, Peggy and fur babies.
31:11 you’re talking about your expanded perspective on the 7 of swords. I thought I HAD to share what your observations sparked in me. I get this card A LOT! And it has meant different things to me at different times, but my understanding of what’s being said by this card (depending on its placement and companions) has leapfrogged thanks to videos like yours! In the RWS, the figure is sneaking off with 5 swords, leaving behind 2. And I am the QUEEN of “Well, this game is rigged, so let’s figure out other means of winning. Let’s not take any chances with cheaters.”👀🙃😮💨 Many times, I DO have very self-defeating and limiting thoughts- but reflecting, many times when this card shows up for me, the 5 most problematic of those insecurities are taken away and the 2 constructive beliefs are left behind. This ties into the Venusian upgrade energy of 7s in the sense that the “5 conflict swords” are taken away, leaving behind the “2 swords of peace.” I absolutely LOVE how videos like yours stimulate my intuition!💖
Your walk through of this deck, your comments, and the messages on the Outgrow Yourself deck have inspired me to try yet again with the Thoth. Great video, really insightful.
Thanks! 🌷 It was super useful to follow along with my own deck. I use it as a mix of oracle and (thoth) tarot and so far it's been just fine for me that way. I don't have an extensive knowledge of the thoth system. I don't even own a deck. I like to learn about it with online pictures only. So I learned a lot with the comparison and your insights! As I was watching your video, I realised I sometimes struggle with the keywords and I do miss the astrological associations (my main reason for getting into the thoth system is the Golden dawn astrological references). My evil deck mod mindset was like: shouldn't I write the name and astro correspondences on each card? 😜 I think I'm going to give it a try on a couple of cards (while watching Dawn Michele's video of course).
Interesting. did you notice that in the hierophant, the two columns almost look like the high priestess ones plus the baby's pentacle is in the Devil position (not the usual one as in the Thoth). Wonder what you make of that Lisa? thank you for your video, loved it!
As a Thoth newbie I think I might take a white paint pen to mark the suits. Great review Lisa, I really enjoyed watching you have ah ha moments with the cards
I think the legs being that way in the hanged man was something to do with the light descending into darkness to redeem it or something to that effect (sorry about the vagueness its just the first thing that came into my head) ill have to find my thoth books and see if I can find it. I think Ill pass on the Outgrow Yourself for now not really feeling it.
I realy think these 2 decks work so well together…..I don’t work with the Thoth , but if I used the outgrow deck along with Thoth, I’m sure I could learn to read the Thoth more 😍 …I’m new to your channel. Thank you. 🌟from NZ. 🍒
This is definitely a very interesting and cool deck! I really enjoyed watching both of your videos on this. I almost pushed that button to purchase this deck, but I'm not quite there yet. Great walk through as usual. 💖
I don't have the classic Thoth deck so this side by side was really interesting - how the artist (Linda) has kept elements from the classic deck. Some images do make more sense from that perspective. As I'm clueless about Thoth, I wrote the symbols on the cards with a red Posca pen I had knocking around the house. So you are not necessarily limited to silver, Poscas work fine. I also edged my deck in pink, like the naked flesh. I suppose black would be the expected choice but I felt the deck had more of a fleshy energy and as of now it lives in my "pink decks row" between the magical Forest and Intuitive Night Goddess LOL. I think the difference in edges comes because one half of the deck has been cut from front to back, and the other half from back to front.
Love this video. Have you said what you've read for your Thoth studies anywhere yet? (Not through this whole video yet so maybe I should just be patient)
I’m curious if anyone has found a pen / marker / etc that works to write the minor correlations onto the Outgrow Yourself deck without the words smearing everywhere? I’m planning to mod mine by edging it to hide that side difference that mine also has and, as I’m new to my learning with Thoth as well, I would love to have the suit identifier on each card but am super afraid of smudged words ruining the beauty of this deck!
