Using Kurinuki technique to make a cup 

The Kurinuki technique means to "hollow out". By starting with a solid chunk of clay we can make manipulations to the outside surface and then hollow out the inside. What I like to do is hollow out the whole inside, all the way through and then slip in score a slab on the bottom. I spend a lot more time hollowing the cup out then is shown is this video. The last step is trimming the foot. There are many different approaches one could use with the Kurinuki technique. Try a few!
