Using Math To Solve Hard BTD6 Challenges - in today's very educational video, we learn about this term called 'layer skipping' and use that to calculate how many layers of damage we need to do with each tower in order to win...

For anyone who is interested, the solution for the thumbnail goes like this: Stuff from thumbail -> x^2 | 13 upper, 10 lower -> (13)^2 - (10)^2 = 169-100 = 69. Simple calculus. Nice.

It's been a while, but what's the "dx" part? From what I currently recall, that part's unsolvable, but is there any purpose to it?

@@L7vanmatre dx is actually means the differential of variable x. While the 2x is not the part of it instead it's the funtion itself. So if we just done the simple intergral to it, it just become x^2+c

@@L7vanmatre It's notational; it marks the end of the integral as well as specifying which variable you're actually integrating. Though I think I remember needing to actually algebraically manipulate it as soon as I got to nontrivial problems.

ISAB: so, juggernaut + alch buff equals 4 without alch equals 3 so ends up 7 leaving cerams at 10 with spiketory alch buffed does 9 so leaves hp to 1 and another 1 insta kills the ceram because destroys all layers *me not knowing what the normal ceramic health is*: of course

Of course the thumbnail is just 69. Why did I even bother doing the math. For those who are interested, the problem (integral from 10 to 13 of 2x) is solved like this. Dy/dx = Integral(2xdx) = x^2 Answer is x^2 (top number) - x^2 (bottom number) (13)^2-(10)^2 = 169 - 100 = 69
