Excellent comprehensive video!!!! I would like to request another future video. Please check the selection and multiple append Simvim software capability. I have one input mux pin that has 0-9 appended items for that one pin. I also have another input mux with a 10 position rotary switch used as the one selector (#1). The selector (#1) does not just pick and modify the proper selected (0 to 9) item out all the items appended on that pin but all the appended items at the same time. I properly assigned the one selector (#1) and the item number (0-9) per the selector input dropdown list for each item separately. I believe there is a Simvim software problem. I need this capability and I believe many other builders will also. Please provide an example of this capability in a future video. I think I implemented this capability properly per there website.THANK YOU !!
Hi there Jo-lo, yes I will make a video on selectors. I'm a little confused with what you tried to describe though. You mean that when you change the position that the selector is in it changes the function of all the pins on the other 10 position rotary switch? Not just that one position it's supposed to? Or if you could send me your CFG file that has those assignments an also a brief explanation of what you are trying to do with that selector.
For some reason I have a feeling you might be using selectors wrong or you might be misunderstanding how they're supposed to work. I've read your message like 10 times already trying to figure out what you are trying to get it to do but I'm still confused. Usually you would use a selector to change the keyword/function that a single push button, toggle switch, encoder, display shows. Are you treating the 10 positions of the rotary switch that's not the selector as 10 separate switches? Because you can't append multiple functions to rotary switches. Sorry JoLo, I am really confused 🤣
@@Qosmokid I will gladly send you my small config file. Please tell me how to do that. I do not have your e-mail address. I can see why you might be confused based on your response and my description.. The 10 position rotary switch is used as the selector. It selects one of the 10 appended items appended to each one of 5 input mux pins so as to change their control of a particular x-plane's function. What I am trying to accomplish is to use one rotary encoder to change the heading, altitude, nav, com, crs, baro, ( fms, or range for G1000-3) and ( fms or range for G1000-1) a total of 10 items, The rotary switch selects which of these previously mentioned x-plane controls will be influenced by the rotary encoder. The rotary encoder is implemented by push buttons not by an actual rotary encoder. Confusing? ---Probably. I am building a generic cockpit which will serve my needs, THANK YOU for your interest and time.
Still trying to wrap my wee little brain around the mux thing. I'll get it eventually. I'm currently building a helicopter collective that uses potentiometers and need to figure out wiring those up.
