Filming was undertaken with permission from BirdWatch Ireland and the National Parks and Wildlife Service, Ireland.
Rockabill Island in Dublin, Ireland, houses Europe's largest colony of roseate terns who migrate from West Africa every May. However due to the degree in which they are losing their nesting habitat in recent years, these seabirds are now confined to very few locations and have relied on conservation action from practitioners. In their latest research, authors Brian Burke and Darren O’Connell highlight the important role artificial nestboxes have played in the species’ population growth and recovery.
