Best Python tutorial on RU-vid. I am already familiar with the Python language. I just needed this refresher to remind myself of how the user interface works because it has been a couple years. Every other Python tutorial assumes you already know everything, which means the other videos aren't really tutorials, at all.
Well explained. I'm just getting started and was using the IDLE shell, but hadn't figured out yet how to make use of the secondary windows. This was perfect. I agree with the previous comment that the spotlight effect seems to hide more than it highlights-- I found it a little irritating.
Dude, you have just saved ma life..! You know what i was directly using the ptthon shell and as you have said in case of an error then i had to retype my code...kudos..!!
I cant thank you more .. none of the book explained this more beautifully .. i had to switch to notepad++ just because i couldnt put all statements sequentially ... many thanks!!
Thank you. Was excellent introduction, did not skip a thing no matter how simple it must have been to David. Only small criticism, the spotlight almost blacked everything else out on my screen. But overall, great, THANK YOU.
Thank you! I am going through a Python book, been through 4 chapters and have been wondering how to not use the interactive shell. I assume the book gets to that at some point, but this is very helpful all the same!
Thanks for this video, I found it very useful. I'd been doing various bits of Python in Code Academy, and by the time I came back to Python itself, I'd forgotten which window did what. It's quite confusing that IDLE is also called a shell!
Really good video. When new to programming just learning which windows to actually use is pretty important, obviously. Yet in class they skipped this step.
Old Video But Still Good.. I Tried learning python awhile back but never stuck to it , Always got distracted with other languages.. Now im finally getting back into it and since i am a beginner , Didnt know how to use the Python shell but this video made sense of it all lol Thanks...
hey what are you using to run windows. Im having to use my dads comp to do my program for now till i figure out how to use windows on my mac or use python the same way
Before running the file, does it create a compiled version of the file? Like a .pyc or something? I didn't see that show up on your desktop, so I guess not.
thank you very much i have been looking for this intro for a very long tyme, however may i ask, is it possible to run the same program, like firstprogram.py from the IDLE prompt without first opening the file and choose run?
thanks a lot for the detailed feature.. can you please guide on how to install pyscripter and which version. i have windows7 64 bit and python 64 installed...
Thanks. Your video is very helpful. I study python by myself, so it is hard to have someone to ask if I have any questions. I found python 3.9 hard to track and fix the scripts, especially I am a beginner who makes many errors. I usually use sublime text but this app does not run with some commands.
Great video! One question: what's the point of the first thing, the black screen? Is it simply to see your program run right away in the same window? It doesn't seem very useful since one cannot save programs in it. Thanks!
