I managed to use my G29 pedals as rudder pedals in MSFS 2020 but couldn't figure out how to do it in DCS. After watching this vid, now I can. Thanks a lot dude.
DOOOOOOOD!!!! you arey hero. I was pretty upset that I can't use my fanatec pedal set for rudders. I was actually looking at a cheap set of rudder pedals until I found your video and, you save me a good chunk of money, you're the best!!!
Just an addition: When you assign the same axis as you did for rudder to the wheelbrakes left and respectively right, you just need to add a modifier, meaning a Key on your keyboard like str or alt. Now, when ever I need the axis to work as brake, I just have to hold down the assigned modifier and the pedals will work as brakes. if I release the key, the pedals work as rudders. Thank you for doing a nice tutorial, mate!
thanks for the video and the explanation man, i actually figured all this shit out over the course of like 3 hours a few months ago but the game reset and i couldn't work it out again for the life of me. great video straight to the point although i didnt actually finish watching once i found what i was looking for :) well spoken and it seems like you know what you're talking about. thanks again!
First video i clicked on and it immediately helped. Thank you very much Mr. Vegetableman. Actually got the same pedals, but doubt it made a positive difference anyway. I can finally do loggy runs with Huey and Mi-8. o7
Might not be rudder pedals but seems a lot better than the twist axis on your stick and opens up more stick buying options without twist axis without spending a few hundred bucks on rudder pedals
AWESOME video, haven't set up the curves quite yet but used my G27 pedals and saved myself a couple hundred dollars (it also makes switching over to my racing wheel all that much easier which is an added bonus). Obviously it's not the absolute best solution, and I found if you accidentally bump the other pedal it kind of overrides your current input....but still, absolutely fantastic. Thanks very much for this useful video!!
Yeah I noticed that too! I eventually bought myself a sim rig (which I really need to make a video on) that can house both sets of pedals without moving anything now but it was so handy to be able to use the racing pedals for both.
if you get the Leo Bodnar adapter you can use their software to set deadzones on either side of the axis and that will help with the override inputs, especially if your pedals are really touchy like mine
Hey man, I've got T3PA pro pedals and for some reason mine start on the left side of the graph and go to the right whereas yours start on the right and travel down to the left therefore you can adjust your Y saturation to 50, when I do it all it does it limits my rudder output to 50 because it travels from 0 to 50 rather than from 50 to 0 like yours, I have no clue how to flip that, any idea ?
Thank you Messi of dcs world! I wanted to buy a thrustmaster warthog and when I realized that it does not have a spin axis I was reconsidering the purchase but then I saw this video and it works great. Keep up the good work definitely earns a sub from me (:
Thank you man! I was flying the apache and i was really struggling with the joystick turn axis rudder and I had pedals but I could not make them work thank you!
Thanks for the tutorial! Using Fanatec club sport LC pedals set up as in the video. Once I push either the gas or brake, the rudder is stuck to the corresponding side. The only way to fl straight pushing a pedal is to hold down one of the pedals half way. I’m positive it’s setup as described in the video. 50/50 one side inverted. Pedals connected directly to pc. I think this is the issue others are describing.
so i installed ucr and vjoy, and now every second or third timei push the gas pedal for right rudder, it gets stuck half way back to center, but it only does it in vjoy. if i go to calibrate the club sport pedals, it never gets stuck.
I have followed this guide, nut my issue is that in order to get it to work i have to have both pedals pressed all the way and to steer i have to lift off. It seems to see my pedals like this....Off=on and on=off. Any idea on reversing this?
Fantastic vid, just a tip, make sure you did this for all planes and not just for the one you are in or worse like me I changed genetal but not my plane, I was doing it correct but not on my plane aaargh. Fixed my prob this video tgough thanks
@7:35 the small black box at the bottom of the window... Mine always starts from the far left never the center.. This used to work in DCS for me now coming back to it, it has changed any ideas? Thanks
had to add some major deadzones in my g27 adapter cable software. the pedals would override each other sometimes, but the deadzones luckily fixed it. i wish dcs had more deadzone options cause i know some people have the issue i had but dont have the software to fix it
thanks for the vid, i tried it using my fanatec csl pedals, it all worked ok except for the fact that it was in reverse. i had to put the pedal down to get to centre (neutral) and let it off to apply rudder. i couldnt reverse it the tuning menu and i see no info in the fanatec app. any ideas? cheers
I did everything as you showed up in the video, but it does not work for me ! Both right and left rudder cannot be independent and are in conflict ! Any solution ?
Sadly, this doesn't work with my Fanatec CSL Pedals. Engaging pedals actually centres rudder and releasing causes full left/right rudder. Why is everything so complicated in PC Gaming!?
@@JETMATE1 Have you tried looking at the Fanatec setup application? There may be a way to invert them there. I'll be trying soon, as DCS World is downloading for me now!
I have some old logitech pedals that I've hooked up through UnoJoy and after reversing the potentiometer on the brake (these are gas/brake only) I think they should work. I can set up each pedal so that the rudder goes from 50% to full and individually they work. But if I do both the rudder jitters and jumps around so that it is unusable. Thoughts?
Hey my brakes act weirdly, even when I make it into a slider it sits in the middle or at full brake. this make no sense to me. (for some reasons my brakes are on the RZ axis and I think that's what causing the issues)
Great walkthrough, but when I do this my pedals act like they are backwards. By pushing them in, it brings the pedal out to resting position. Would you know a fix for this?
Need some help please. When I push my clutch it goes from 0 to 100 and not -100 to 100. Any suggestions how to fix this? Am trying it now for two hours. The rest works. thanks in advance!
@@Dozerboy84 It looks like vJoy and joystick gremlin may be needed. I’m throwing the towel in for tonight but will share my findings with you once I have them!
No worries! Can’t take credit for the idea but hopefully the video makes it easier to understand. I find it a lot easier to fly the helis using this setup compared to normal rudder pedals.
I have the Elite Pedals with LC plugged from the LC to the pc with the usb cable. I want to use them as rudder pedals in dcs. in DCS they show up and I can assign them BUT, for some reason they are opposite…. I have them both as 50% on the Y axis and one is inverted BUT when the clutch is out the rudder goes to the left a f when I push the clutch in the rudder comes back to the centre, even if I invert that axis it just goes to the right side and does the same thing . so essentially both left and right pedal are already to the side and when I push the clutch in they come back to the centre has anyone else got this to work and hoe did they it thanks
You can buy the cable end from Fanatec... i have done. I also cannot get the rudder to move to FULL by pressing either pedal. It is at FULL in the resting position, centered when both pedals are depressed fully - So I fly with both pedals fully depresed and release either when needed. When i want to release the pedals completely (not hold them in) i have a RUDDER CENTER button to alleviate the rudder resting rudder position issue (full right rudder in my case). I use these pedals in Xplane and MSFS but for some reason it appears DCS sees the FANATEC pedals in reverse postition ? 0 to 100 is in reverse. I would have thought reversing the slope of the line using User Curve feature would fix but no.
