OMG....I've had RT systems for about 2 years now and decided to "look" at the program settings. I am a travel nurse and brought my 400 and a mag mount ant. for the rental car. I have burned my eyes out looking for frequencies. Then today I decide to look for settings videos. I think come on Lloyd really... Thanks for the great feature...n4ghp
I love the various RT Systems software and have purchased for all my radios. This video is great. However you demonstrated the ability to selectively import repeaters based on various factors like DMR, D-Star, etc. I do not get that option on any of the software versions I have and I have updated all software to the latest version. What am I missing?
By any chance is this a windows Only function? I have three radios that were available only for windows and this feature seems to work on those radios.
Once you sort the list into alphabetic order by city name can you move certain repeaters to the top positions? I'd want my local ones in the first positions.
Create the file then use Move Up or Move down to change the order and those you want at the top. Or use the new Distance option to the right of the screen on the return to sort with the closest repeater first with one click.
This feature is available in the programmers for all the radios so even if you have one that is not HF, the process is the same. Get your area repeaters programmed into the radio quickly and easily. Great Video, just ordered your SW for my VX6. I'm wondering now if I'll be able to set the "city" as the name on my radio. I like the ability to alphabetize the name list for quick retrieval in my area. Call sign( in your example) doesn't aid in selection while on the road...Thanks!!
You can set a City if the City has 6 characters or less. That is all the radio can handle. I would recommend setting the City in the Comment then sort by that column and print out with all columns hidden other than city, frequency and name if you are using names. That is the only way to get the information you are after for that particular radio.
Jim, Yes, radio programming always writes over all of what is in the radio. To prevent loss of what is there already, complete Communications | Get data from radio and add new frequencies to that same file. Then when you send the file back, you have the new and old together for the radio to use.
Thanks for the video! Some of us out here are not quantum physics professors. Missed you guys at HamCation this year hopefully you can make it in 2023.
Hey Karen great tutorial video! Thanks again for your excellent customer service and help purchasing more of this great programming software for my new radios! De N1UFO, Gabe in Brooklyn, NYC.
Mr Ward, I hope you have contacted tech support by phone for personal assistance. I hate that you have been three weeks working on this without talking to us. The FT-991 uses the Silicon lab drivers that were installed with the programmer. Or they can be found on the rtsystems.us/drivers page. Even with that, some computers need a little help finishing the process of installing a new device. May we help now or have you been successful?
I see it has been a while. This avenue is normally not monitored. But if you are still having problems, call tech support when you are available at the computer or to make an appointment for after hours help. We'll be glad to help get you going.
No you don't. If nothing is selected, everything will be used. Problems arise if you select one by accident. But, Select All works to get the job done. Glad you found it.
