Great video. Is there a way I can create multiple Spin Buttons without individually having to assign a cell link to each one? I can't seem to drag it like I can with formulas to have it assign to a corresponding cell. Is there a way?
0:30 You can right click on the Ribbon as well to Customize. 9:55 I did have a question, but you accidentally answered it. 😂 “What if you wanted a spin button for the unit, tens, hundreds, thousands, and so on?” You just make a spin button for each and put a formulae in the result cell that multiplies each spin button value by the proper power of ten. =(E2*1000)+(F2*100)+(G2*10)+(H2) If you want to get really tricky, just put the multiplier at the top of the column and use an absolute reference to the multiplier so you can drag fill which still allows you to adjust the multiplier without going into each cell to adjust it. Hi. I have a lot of columns to put my spin button (I need a counter for each task on different days). Is there a shortcut for me to copy and paste the info I have for my format (info I entered in Format Control) but I want the result to come out on a specific cell without having to manually enter and select the cell link? Apparently not, but I (partially) figured out how to do it! I first tried clicking on several cells while setting the cell links, and it seemed to work, but after OK the button failed to execute the change in the other cells. So here's how I (almost) solved it: Suppose you want a spinner button located at E2 to increment the value in cells A2, B2, C2, and D2 by X amount, Proceed to link your spinner button to cell A2. Then add a formula to each of cells B2, C2, and D2 that says =A2. Bingo! Every time A2 changes because you hit the spinner button, so will B2, C2, and D2. The problem is that this only works if you want B2 through D2 to all be the same as A2. But if you want to start with different values in each of these three cells, then I could not figure out how to make those cells respond to the increment in cell A2 since no matter what I tried I kept getting a circular reference error. Ideally what is needed is a formula that applies "what you've got plus just the change in A2 as it happens" and I could not figure out how to do that. Sorry.
