Why not just adding that smudges map to reflection glossiness slot and apply color correction, you will receive the same possibilities and effects, as i can see?
Hey! So this is what i saw in another tutorial over. They applied the surface imperfections maps as bitmaps as the glossiness for a material, and that seemed quite quicker. Do the results vary a lot between the two? Thanks for the tutorial, love your work!
This is fantastic. do you know any way of painting this kind of effect. there was a v-ray video a while ago about using a photoshop prepared mask to define the blend between two materials. for example, Could you use a similar technique to place the smudges only around the edges of the face? Love to hear your thoughts.
whenever iadd surface imperfections like what was in the video, my displacement and bump maps are not applied. It is just a flat surface with the surface imperfections. Then I tried without imperfections, the disp maps and bums are showing in the render
Hey bro. can you please tell me the config of your workstation? as i am very confused what hardware is best suited for the rendering. presently i have a i7 8th gen, 16 gigs of ram, 250 gigs ssd, 1050ti gpu. waiting for your reply.
Should be in the link below the video - your workstation should be plenty powerful enough to run the renders. If you need more info, I recommend checking Vray's website for recommended system requirements...
Aaron Dietzen demonstrated something like this at Basecamp a few years ago as seen in this video - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-27TmHqkJYOQ.html
