Using the 48v Li Time Battery Balancer on Four Random LifePo4 12v 100ah Batteries.

I bought a Li Time battery balancer to see if I could get my random 12v Lifepo4 batteries to balance. I have four batteries connected in series to make a 48v bank. This bank is also paralleled to another 48v battery.

Great stuff brother! I really like this balancer for sure. More often than not, when I check it on my four batteries, they are nearly identical! Loved seeing those results you got too! Can this balancer work for 24v batteries? And, what if you have more than 4 batteries 12v in your system ?

No. The balancer is only for 12v batteries. This balancer goes up to 48v bank. This won't work for high voltage banks. You would need to do series\ parallel connections for more batteries

The biggest reason is to make sure you are getting full capacity from your battery bank. If left unchecked, the battery voltages can get far enough apart to start making a noticeable difference in capacity. This only applies when the batteries are wired in series. Hope this helps! i see bob has one battery with a 150 amp bms .should he put it in the first spot so if 100 amp bms on others shuts down it will kill all four batterys and not leave one at 12 volts still running? wounder what will happen if one has pouch cells.👍👍

Bob is using a 3000w inverter. At 51.2v nominal the inverter will max out at 60 amps of draw. It really doesn't matter since all batteries can handle that amperage just fine. If one battery has pouch cells then the balancer might just need to work a bit harder. Probably no big deal. Thanks for the comment!

I have a 12 volt system in my RV with 3 SOK batteries nominal amps is 208 each. Could I still use this balancer with them?

Your batteries are probably in parallel for a 12v system. This balancer is for batteries in series for a 48v system. Batteries in parallel the voltage stays the same - the batteries will stay in balance - and the amp-hours add. Batteries in series the voltage adds. Because each voltage is added, the individual battery voltages can drift out of balance.

You don't need a balancer if the batteries are wired in parallel to make a 12v system. They balance themselves when wired in parallel. Hope this helps!
