In this video I review the Cricut Maker and highlight some of its many possibilities in the clay studio. The Cricut Maker really can elevate your studio practice. It can easily handle over 300 materials including vinyl, thick card stock, acrylic, and many more with effortless precision. The Cricut Maker is extremely versatile and easy to use and places more creative possibilities than ever at your fingertips. Effortlessly switch between tools without missing a beat. Plus, with more tools coming, Cricut Maker grows with you as you master each new art project and design idea. The Maker and Design Space applications are simple to use and can really help you stand out in your clay practice. I was able to quickly apply my ideas to multiple projects including underglaze stencils, thick embossing stencils, and reusable waterproof stencils. I really do recommend the Cricut Maker and I hope you give it a try in your studio.

I just bought one to create stencils for greenware. You mentioned wax paper which caught my attention! What did you use the wax paper for? Greenware?

Can you place clay directly under cricut?

Kevin, do you think that polymer clay can be run through the machine? Should it be par-baked prior to attempting? The device is pricey and I want to expand our jewelry line with embossed pieces but the cost might be prohibitive if it cannot be used on the polymer clay.

I am not sure it will cut through polymer clay. But I am no expert on the Cricut.

Did you need to change the blade for different materials you cut from?

Yes, some materials require different blades.
