Have a little bit newer iBook G4 12" A1133 but with 1.5 Gb RAM and 128 Gb SSD with msata-to-ide adapter. Browser works much, much better and VLC can play large files. Also waiting for a new battery(well, it would be repacked with new elements, but whatever) and planning for use it like portable long-life multimedia player. And there are lots of interesting games for this machine like Warcraft 3, Dungeon Siege, Monopoly etc.
4:20 yeah it’s so cool to have 10 billion of adapters.. There are still no usb flash drives that use usb c And even if they are they aren’t as popular So honestly usbs themselves aren’t outdated and usb c can’t get itself together atm It’s like iMac g3 where Apple made usb standard and while it did become standard, by the time it did the computer became obsolete What I would say is actually old is the usb 1.0(or was it 1.1?) speeds they are very slow U would probably rather use some FireWire adapter due to it being pretty fast actually
I actually have many USB C flash drives, and they’re commonly found at basically any office supply or tech store. Most of them will even have a USB A port on one side, and USB C on the other.
I run MorphOS on mine and for it's age it flies.... Shame MorphOS is non free (you can use for about 30 mins unrestricted), but everything works out of the box.
I have this exact machine but I just use it for the software that I had but, no internet 😬I think it’s pre iPhone so no way it’s gonna recognize an iPhone or iPad I have a g3 as well😅
Intresring video, recently i bought a 2010 Polycarbonate MacBook, if im honest it does things it probably shouldnt better than it does basic tasks, browsing the internet on High Sierra is very slow, i tired many browsers the best one for me was Firefox. However with testing it ran games better than browsing Facebook which is fairly odd. Although the games i tested were just low end indie games (Terraria and G-Mod) but it suprised me where it shouldnt. Although they are obsolete especially the G4 there still funny little things to have around and mess about with to see how it was yesterdecade. Great video none the less!
Those 2010 polycarbonates should be a pretty good balance between collectors device and very very basic usability device, great era of computers to be into. I like my 2009 Pro’s because of that aspect.
I have a 2010 polycarbonate too. If you use one of dosdude1's patchers to install Mojave or Catalina, it does better than on High Sierra, especially if you're willing to upgrade to 8GB RAM and a cheap SSD.

lol 512 MB with Leopard wasn't even a good idea on Intel Macs back then! All my iBooks and PowerBooks are maxed out with RAM. Althru they never got as nearly as much power as the Intel devices had from the start.
