Avoid shortened stitches when crossing thick seams (think jeans and corduroy)--especially useful for nice topstitching. Sound up for the audio details! I am a Janome Artisan and compensated, but I'd say all the good things about Janome if I paid full price. I've been affiliated with Janome America for 20 (!!!) years, for good reason--great machines, responsive company! #janomeartisan #janomesewingmachines #janomeamerica

Thanks for the demo, Sarah. I can see how this would be so helpful in garment stitching and I always forget about this small but mighty feature on Janome feet.

Hump jumpers work for things like jeans hems, but more moderate shifts in level are easily handled! Thanks so much for viewing and commenting...hope summer on your side of the border isn't as hot and steam as in Maine!

@@paigeturner165 OK, I've just looked up the 725s, which is a really good basic model: www.janome.com/machines/sewing/sewist-725s/ (see next comment) which has a maximum stitch width of 5 mm (which is narrower than many machines now... 7mm and 9 mm even are available--this just means your zigzag and decorative stitches can be a lot wider, something I bet 90+ percent of folks don't use)

@@paigeturner165 Here's a page on Janome America with the Zigzag A foot.... and HOOORAY it says there is a model available for the 725s: Here's the page link: www.janome.com/accessories/sewing-machine-feet/zig-zag-foot/ Look for Sewist 725s Zig-Zag Foot | Part Number: 832523007 Janome feet usually aren't very expensive (especially compared to Bernina!). If your local dealer doesn't have this one in stock (make SURE they order the one that specifically will fit your 725s as there are at least three versions of the A Foot). The A foot is the standard / basic one on the Janomes once/if you move up in price category to a fancier, heavier duty machine. Hope this helps! Guess you couldn't find it because the button isn't on yours--at least it is available!
