Another GREAT video. Thank you. Have you tried to see if the see “wad” of foam can easily be pulled out of the 104+ head basket? Would love to hear a sample of that as it might give more mascara.
If price wasnt an issue which microphone would you recommend for live performance?? Considering i use stage monitors. The neumann kms series or any other suggestions??
I think almost any modern mic - and many vintage mics - will be okay with monitors. Depending on monitor placement, cardioid or supercardioid may have a slight advantage, but I haven't really noticed this with my humble gigs. The sE V7 is a good modern, subtle improvement over the SM58 IMHO.
Lovely microphones and a neat comparison, I gotta say I love the 104 Plus myself. Have you actually heard of the Austrian Audio OD505? The price tag is a bit steep at about $300, but I think its most interesting claim is the internal preamp. Plus it looks similar to the Neumann handhelds in my opinion.
I'd love to see you compare a Neumann u87 to the warm-audio wa87. I know you mostly do live microphones. But with your rich voice you have a distinct advantage over many mic reviewers on RU-vid. So a U87 Vs WA87 would be really interesting.
I compared both of those several months ago and to my ears the Neumann had a lot more sparkle and top end. The warm audio was pretty dull in comparison. There are several good comparison videos online.
