In this video I show you how to use the Sensor Pen to place your stitches exactly where you want them to go, as well as using the Guide Beam and Needle beam on the Unity, Spirit and Crescendo Babylock machines.
This is the best! I have had my Crescendo for two years. Never was offered any introductory courses. I had never plugged in my sensor pen! Now I can’t wait to use it. Thank you for the inspiration!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK *YOU* !!!!!!!!! I have had my Crescendo for a few months now and never realized something VERY important ! I have wanted to use the guide beam for many purposes but couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t get it to work. I looked on the settings and found something on it that would turn it on but didn’t go where I wanted it to. It was VERY limited ! I didn’t see a reason for attaching the Sensor Pen because I didn’t think I’d be using it very much. After watching your video, I realized that you need to attach the Sensor Pen in order to get the guide beam to work ! It was quite the DUH moment for me ! Laugh Out Loud ! I wonder how many have done that ! So thank you for just improving my machine by leaps and bounds ! Can’t wait to get sewing on it again tomorrow !
Brad you explain things very clearly and logically. I have had my Crescendo for nearly a year but have not really used the sensor pen even though my dealer gave me lessons. I guess I was on overload at the time. This makes so much mores sense to me now. Thanks so much.
This was a great video. I haven't used the sensor pen on my machine because I didn't really understand it, but this video makes me feel totally prepared. Saved it in my favorites.
This was the best instructional video on how to use the sensor pen and on the function of the laser beam. Great step by step instructions, removing possible missteps. I can now setup my sensor pen, calibrate it, and use it to place my embroidery on my brand new Unity. Thank you!
Really helpful, thanks! I'm a new Unity owner living 90 miles from the closest dealer. This video was exactly what I needed and it was a bonus to see that you actually used the same machine that I purchased last month.
I'm currently in the market for a new machine and trying to understand the differences in the different BL models. Your tutorial is extremely helpful. You are a great teacher.
Thank you for sharing this video. I have had my Unity for a while and have never used the sensor pen. Very easy to follow your instructions. Thanks again!
Thank you. I had my machine for two years and didn’t know how to do the pencil.. it is so cool, now I know and will put it in practice. Merci .. Sylvie.
Thank you this has helped. I have the Spirit and picked it up before I could get a lesson and I live 305 miles from Anchorage Alaska, so much of my education will be by using the internet and your lessons are great.
Thank you so much for this video. I live quite a distance from the dealer and was never able to go in for introductory classes on my Crescendo. I hadn't figured out how to use the sensor pen and this really helped. Now I feel like I can do it.
This is so helpful! Bought the Spirit a few months and got a basic lesson on it. Have played around with it and made some quilt labels with it. Will go back for the second lesson in a few weeks, and although the lessons are helpful, nobody wants to teach using the sensor pen. It seems that they feel it’s cheating. So thanks for the info. Will go back and refer to your video many times. BTW, it would be helpful if you could show the dots on the bed of the machine with your left hand, as I still am unsure of where they are on my machine since your hand was in the way. But a great video and tutorial. Thanks!
My shop is not close to go and have more lessons and this is so helpful for my new Unity machine....I don't think I will be as scared of it as I was.....thanks for the detailed video....sharon in Charlotte, NC
Brad, This is the best video I have seen on my Crescendo's sensor pen, thank you! I believe I now know how to use it. The laser beam I had figured out. Thank you!
Thanks for adding the Spirit to this tutorial. Sry helpful in using the sensor pen. Bought my Spirit awhile ago, and am having fun with it. Not good at hooping or centering design on project, so the sensor pen will come in very handy. Can you reset where you want the design to go if you don’t like the first placement? Thanks for a great tutorial. A tutorial on just the Spirit would be very welcome.
Outstanding information, I am new to the Destiny and your hand covers up what you are trying to show us with the pin. Can you adjust the angle of the camera please. I love the your information, but don't know what your touching. Please keep the videos coming. Thank you so very much.
Old video with up today knowledge this was very very helpful I just purchased Baby Lock with the upgrade II. I love your videos I am new subscribers. For beginner with embroidery what videos do you recommend thank you.
Thank you for the video about the digital pen. my crescendo is being delivered soon. and I live so far from the dealership where i will have to go to pick it up, i wont get to spend extra time with the lessons (live 250 miles away). I really enjoyed the video and I like that I can go back and rewatch it when i need it. Thanks again. PS maybe you could do another video on the crescendo/unity/spirit and some other features that may be Underused.
Hi Brad! I just purchased the Unity machine and haven't picked it up yet, as it had to be ordered. I hope to have it early next week, so decided to watch a few videos before it comes in. Yours is the first video I am watching and I'd just like to say that you are an excellent teacher. I just have one request: it is impossible to see where you are touching with the Sensor Pen, as your hand is always in the way. :-) If you could somehow move the camera or use your other hand, it would help. Thanks so much for sharing your time with us new owners!
Most comprehensive tutorial I have watched. I have understood and can now move forward .However my laser beam is slightly offset, bearing to the right . Any thoughts? Do you have any more tutorials on the machine functions
I have a Brother Dreamweaver with the sensor pen. I enjoyed your video and your explanations are very clear. But I suggest you adjust your camera so you can see where you are touching the pen on the fabric rather than the back of your hand.
not much that i've done but I just posted this seminar we had at my shop that was all about using the different feet, check it out. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pGzqvNHrg9o.html
Brad, I learned so much from this tutorial and reference it multiple times. One question I have is regarding the "needle beam" feature. It never looks lined up directly over the center of the design on my machine when starting a new design and I notice that in your video too so I imagine that is normal? From everything I've learned about it leads me to believe that it should line up, right? Do you know why it doesn't? This always makes me fearful I don't have my design lined up correctly.
Brad, near the end, you show the red laser dot, but it is not lined up with the center point of your cross mark. Shouldn't it be? When mine isn't, I use the buttons on the screen to move the needle to the perfect position. The sensor pen is terrific for getting it close and getting the angle right, but I always have to nudge it a bit manually to perfect the position...
this was a fabulous tutorial. Brad, are they discontinuing the Unity? I know others are on the chop block. thank you for your time. I wish you were closer.
I need help with using the laser beam/sensor pen on my Destiny2 to place a number on the back of a jacket. There is a design in place and I need to add numbers at the end. I can't get it to line up.
Your hand was blocking our view of where you were touching the machine bed with the sensor pen, so hard to get full understanding of what you were doing.
