Using the walkway at Atlanta Airport (ATL) to move between concourses

Movement between the 7 concourses at the Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport can be accomplished one of two ways. Either by the Plane Train, which is an automated people mover, or by the old-fashioned way…walking. For those who have never been to the Atlanta Airport it may be difficult to judge just how much walking will be necessary, especially if you are dragging carry-on luggage. This real-time walkthrough of moving between Concourse A to Concourse C will give you an idea of just how long it will take to move between concourses.

Thanks! This elevates some stress lol. I have a layover in Atlanta that’s only 35 minutes 😥 but seeing how easy this place is to navigate I think I will actually be able to make it! Let’s just hope that the terminals aren’t too far apart lol

For a quicker way in between concourses use the Plane Train. Here is a video I did about it - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xl0zIgF93UM.html I hope you have a smooth connection and flight. Thanks for the view and comment!

If you only have 35 minutes to catch your next flight, then you may be better off taking the Plane Train

This was very helpful. I have a very tight window to make an international connection from a domestic connection in the ATL airport and I've never been there before.

If your connection is tight I’d use the Plane Train instead of the walkway to get to your flight. It can cut a lot of time off changing concourses

So glad you posted this video because I need to make the journey from T to F today and was curious how long it took. Would you recommend walking versus taking the train?
@bozy106
@bozy106 2 года назад
As long as the train is running it is WAY quicker and recommended. However if you’ve just came off a long flight and have a little time for your layover walking it would be a nice way to stretch your legs. But overall the Plane Train is usually the best option to me.

@@bozy106 according to most travellers, including my mother, my mother recommends against walking between concourses, as it takes way too long, and you may always feel rushed to catch a flight
@bozy106
@bozy106 Год назад
@@GSU_Panther_Nation I certainly recommend the Plane Train unless you either need exercise and have plenty of time, or you are just freaked out by being close to a bunch of people (because it can get packed on the Plane Train)
@GSU_Panther_Nation
@GSU_Panther_Nation Год назад
@@bozy106 that is true. It depends on how long your layover is, but if you are departing from ATL, then it is better to take the Plane Train

@@bozy106 then what I would do is wear a mask when onboard the Plane Train

I'd pay to see this video with all the moving walkways but with you standing still on them *without* walking on them - camera stationary without the up-and-down motion of walking... for as long as it takes... ahhhh👍
@bozy106
@bozy106 3 года назад
I had also noticed that the up and down movement of walking was very exacerbated on that portion of my footage. I wonder if the stabilization of my camera was freaked out by the forward movement and the closeness of the wall on the moving walkway. After realizing this I intend to stay still on moving walkways in the future.

Please help me out! I will have an international flight to Atlanta by the 18th of this month then another domestic flight to Vegas in 3 hours. Can you have a video, or if you already had one can you provide the link of walking from the baggage claim area of the international gate to domestic departure gates, please! Thank you very much
@bozy106
@bozy106 3 года назад
I don't have one on that exactly, but check out video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-21CMcw4GZWQ.html which shows an international arrival. Between time points 15:50 and 15:55 you can actually see some of the baggage drop counters for domestic connecting flights as you leave the international baggage claim area.

@bozy106
@bozy106 Год назад
Not on this one. However if you arrive in ATL on an international flight and have a connecting flight afterwards you would have access to this area to get to your next flight.

Hello, super helpful video!!! Thank you so much! A quick question if I have to go from concourse A to E then I would keep walking underground until I see concourse E and then take the escalator upstairs once I see signs for cocnourse E? I have a 3.5 hour layover in Atlanta so I might just take the long route if not then I just hop on the Plane Train and ride that to concourse E?
@bozy106
@bozy106 3 года назад
That is correct. You can walk from concourse A all the way to E either by walking on the walkway or taking the Plane Train. There are some interesting exhibits along the walkway
@GSU_Panther_Nation
@GSU_Panther_Nation Год назад
In that case, you would have plenty of time to walk from A gates to E gates, but it may take up an hour to get there
