That's a classy touch. I've been burying a sticker in superglue on my projects, but it's unpredictable but when it works looks good. This looks more reliable and no hanging around.
I watched your video because I want to seal some small wood projects with UV resin. Looks like it should work. If you still want to polish, try a soft cloth instead of a Dremel tool.
Thanks for showing how to do that the right way. I tried a 12th fret inlay with uv resin last year (an ash Bethlehem star with uv resin outline in a granadillo fretboard) and it didn't work all that well. Probably cos I didn't have a uv lamp. I placed the neck in the sun, but it was a relatively cloudy day, so it wasn't quite set enough when I sanded it. I'll have to try using uv resin again, with a uv lamp this time.
My first thought was fretboard inlays. There's a time and place for two part epoxies, but this would definitely be a good option for other jobs. Particularly when I dont have two days to wait for the epoxy to set.
Might want to update your product link. I tried to buy with it so you'd get credit (Because THANK YOU! I've searched the entire Internet to see if I could fill with UV rather than 2 part), but that listing is now indefinitely out of stock. :/
HowDo! Very small Genmitsu router bits and a Shinto Rasp are under the tree (I think)...should I peek?...I wonder how much firewood I need to live in the shop full time??? One tip I hear is, with wood, always coat the rout with something before using any resin. It prevents bubbles from air in the grain (gold-leaf counts, obviously). I think the UV resins have less of a problem in small areas. More ideas with pigments and resin coming soon...I'll let you know how the experiments go. Superglue and pigment powders are a no go for LP standard fretmarkers...ask me how I know :) Bubble city.
Never peak! I believe one problem is the resin seeping into endgrain and discolouring the wood. Superglue definitely works in a pinch, but this stuff wins hands down!
Hey Chris, great video, as ever!! But you really should ask that company for some money...obviously your video helped the sales, product is currently unavailable ;-))
