In this video I share the ways I use vintage books to homeschool my children, whether they be purchased new, purchased from a used source, online, etc. I also share a bit of how to teach young children gradually instead of expecting them to make huge leaps and jumps, especially for those with learning challenges.

Thank you for your tip-filled video! You are a wealth of information and encouragement. I especially needed to be reminded that this is a long, easy journey, filled with lovely scenery, if I choose to look for it and help my children to do so, too. God bless you and your family!

I've been watching all of your videos lately. With the birth of my 4th child (just 3 weeks ago) I've been praying and searching for a simpler way of homeschooling. I first watched your video on the Mcguffey readers. I ordered both sets from ebay! I received the 1st reader and am using your gentle grammar lessons and my daughter is LOVING our new LA program! Please make more videos on how you use and which vintage books you use in your homeschool. Thank you for all the amazing info!

I know I was a little intimidated at first. My team and I are currently working on a way to incorporate all of the best of the past into a downloadable PDF or some partially-consumable books that are also very inexpensive. I feel the need to do this because most people just can't wrap their brains around the old look and feel of things like White's Arithmetic, but this one book has absolutely helped my little girls understand math because it is arranged so logically. I just don't know of any other way to get people to try these methods that helped so many children a few generations ago.

I was planning on homeschool my daughter and making my own curriculum that I approve of. Like my own version textbook. The workbook idea I had was using a binder with loose leaf paper and print outs that I like. Do you have any recommendations on old version farming and blacksmithing?

My choices for my permanent preschool rotation is heavy in fables and nursery rhymes, Mother Goose, and Andersons Fairy Tales. I also heavily includes Golden Children Book Treasuries, 20th Century Picture Book Treasury, Mike Mulligan and More, James Herriots Treasury for Children, Beatrix Potter Treasury, and a few other Treasuries.

I need to add your Little Talks with God to my littles daily group. We love Kenneth Taylors Familytime picture Bible daily with them now.

They are lovely books I agree. How do you bind your own e- books?
@MomDelights

I used to have a post on my former blog that explained how I bind books in detail, but someone hacked that one :( Perhaps in the future I can try and put a post on this subject on my new blog, momdelights.com.

I just found & bought the dollar homeschool earlier this year. I find it costly to print because there is so much to print. I run out of ink before I'm done printing what I need and the cost of ink is so expensive.

This can be very troublesome if you have a regular printer. After a little research we found that the office-grade printers are more economical in the long-run. We have both an HP Office Jet and a Cannon of the same quality. We bought both from Sam's Club at a discount because they were the display models, which cut down on the cost. The XL black cartridges of both are approximately 2000 full pages, which means a lot of printing of books and other things!
