Holy crap! I did not know about his. I mean I know about the compare feature, but before I would just drag and drop every line one at a time into each record. This will save time by a million. Thanks!
Thanks for the video. So, the later version of the PreVis timestamps wouldn't be the correct version to keep? I've understood as the mod changes something in a certain cell and the Pre-combines have been updated to reflect that. Please let me know the reasoning, as it's something I can't find any info on through forums.
I made my first mod off of Bradenm1's Placeable NPCs called Placeable Continental Minutemen. Now the issue I'm having is that one makes the other disappear, if you have Placeable NPCs on top of Placeable Continental Minutemen, then Placeable NPCs won't show up in game and vice versa. How do I fix that?
I've tried this on fo4 and Skyrim moving things over getting rid of the red so it won't conflict and then my game just won't play still. It acts like there are still things conflicting and it is sad... I've done all I can but the guides don't help complex mods.
Keep in mind that not all red needs to be fixed. If you are loading your entire load order into xedit, and just fixing all red entries, that is the wrong way to go about stuff. Some of those red entries may be necessary for another part of the mod to function correctly. Just like some mods have instructions to not clean them. It's important to understand what the mod is trying to do when fixing conflicts, and making patches.
@@Trosski Thank you for the quick reply it means alot to me. The problems I'm having is... I'm downloading mods that should not conflict with one another in anyway but it seems like no matter what I do like etac the city overhaul mod. It keeps crashing at dawn star at the spot where you run into the towns folk in front of the yarls place. Idk what I can do to fix it as in xedit theres no dialog conflicts or anything... I tried asking Gopher and I got ignored and that hurts cause I want to do my own RU-vid channel but if I can get simple mods to work then idk what to do...
So this makes the new file require the original losing file as a master, correct? I didn't see a pop-up in the video but I got one when I did this. Is this because I am editing/copying a different type of record?
I'll have to make another video to answer your question. This issue is too difficult to answer in a RU-vid response. It requires finding some records, and manually adding them to the recipient mod.
Not all red entries are bad and need to be fixed. What probably happened is the main game has an entry, a DLC changed it, and your mod changed it to something else. Those types of entries can be ignored.
